Interestingly, you can see Yodo has a tanto tucked into his obi in the picture. I've also noticed sanyaku gyoji carrying tanto during Yokozuna dohyo-iri, but not while officiating bouts that would normally be done by tate gyoji. They have met twice before-once when they were amateurs, and the second time last basho in mae-zumo. Naya won both bouts. Perhaps he could pull a Tochinoshin and lose to Kakuryu but win everything else for a yusho. Takakeisho-Tochinoshin BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! How did Takakeisho not lose his balance? Then the overly dramatic fall off the dohyo, big upset. I thought Mitakeumi would lose for sure as soon as he stuffed himself into Ichinojo, that was very surprising to me he was able to win so easily. SHOHOZAN!!! I've never seen Kaisei move so much in a bout, he looks very determined this time. ABI!!! So much fun to watch him, just four long limbs flopping and flying all over the place yet he's somehow winning. Ikioi might have had the most impressive win, steamrolling Asanoyama while injured and 4-0 now! I've been very impressed with Daishomaru this time he's looked dominant the last two days, maybe he's finally breaking out from being the most nondescript rikishi in Makuuchi. Amamaniac 2,078 Posted March 14, 2018 Goeido lost to Endo, more than Endo defeated Goeido. (I don't want to take anything away from Endo's skill, but Goeido seemed to make things easy for him.). At this point, Goeido's chances at the yusho seem to be getting slimmer. Interestingly enough, Ikioi is getting good results despite his apparent injury. Osaka fans seem to be rallying behind him, since they see Goeido struggling. Takakeisho's victory over Tochinoshin was amazing and fun to watch. As much as I am rooting for Tochi, Takakeisho showed some real fighting spirit and kept his opponent from getting his preferred hold on the mawashi. That strategy along with Mitakeumi's brilliant strategy against Ichinojo may just open some eyes, and jeopardize Tochinoshin's and Ichinojo's yusho chances in this tournament. Takakeisho always goes all out, typically, in straight line. He had to do a little dance to beat Tochinoshin. Is it me or the basho? There seem to be more 1 second bout in this basho.
