(I misclicked, I intended to vote 2 Ozeki yushos, not 1.)

Mods, is it possible to fix the poll to reflect Taikoubana's intended voting?

Unfortunately, I don't see how. I can't even remove my own picks after submitting an experimental vote.

Hakuho 4

Kakuryu 1

Kisenosato 1

Hakuho stays strong while Kakuryu retires and Kisenosato struggles with injuries. No consistent challenge from the ozeki either. I don't think the next generation snags a yusho from him in 2018.

Changed Harumafuji yusho to Kakuryu yusho

Maybe orandashoho and MumboJumbo can change their comments, to remove the Harumafuji yushos from their predictions?

Poll closed - up-date

Two-thirds of us expect the majority of the yushos to be won by Yokozunas - which is actually a low number.

Over thirds of us expect at least one yusho to be won by an Ozeki (but no higher prediction than two).

Nearly 60% of us think that a yusho will be won by a player ranked below Ozeki!  I have checked previous polls, and such an amazing high percentage is pretty much unheard of!

Does Tochinoshin qualify as a big surprise?

2018 was quite a diverse year in terms of yusho winners.

Jan: M3W Tochinoshin 14-1
Mar: Y1E Kakuryu 13-2
May: Y1E Kakuryu 14-1
Jul: S1W Mitakeumi 13-2
Sep: Y1W Hakuho 15-0
Nov: K1E Takakeisho 13-2

Three bashos were won by Yokozunas - predicted by Taikoubana, Rocks, RabidJohn, Benihana and inhashi.

Zero bashos were won by Ozekis - predicted by Jakusotsu, MumboJumbo, Jejima, Tiger Tanaka and Soichiro.

Three bashos were won by rikishi ranked below Ozeki - predicted by Mutsu'ohideki.

I have gone through all of the predictions in the comments, and nobody guessed more than the winners for two yushos correctly...

Okay, looking at the votes, I think that there is a clear winner...

He guessed 2 Yokozuna yushos (one-off), 1 Ozeki yusho (one-off) and 3 below Ozeki yushos (exactly - and perhaps the most difficult of the three questions to predict?) So the yusho goes to @Mutsu'ohideki (Yushowinner...). Omedetou.
