d_golem 213 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Whoooaaa finally something that might upstage the Harumafuji scandal wooo. Let's wait and hear what Hakuho got to say to the press. Edited November 22, 2017 by d_golem

Jyuunomori 226 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) SALTYHO! Holy f**k he is salty. That may have been the angriest I have ever seen him. That is career damaging behavior, disrespecting the judge, the shimpan, and his opponent. Hell, he was disrespecting the entire sport. Despite what many say, he is not an omnipotent God who can get whatever the hell he wants. And he learned it today. Holy f**king shit! I am the Yokozuna 193 Posted November 22, 2017 would be he suspended from the tournament? Me, me, me" attitude is not faring well in Japan. Petulant small child could do this, person of his stature and experience not so much.
autotroph 43 Posted November 22, 2017 That was unbelievable! Absolutely insane stuff this basho!
Flyric 94 Posted November 22, 2017 I couldn't tell what made hakuho think it was a matta. I'm interested to hear what it was.
Taikoubana 144 Posted November 22, 2017 In the slow-mo, after he slaps Yoshi, he appears to tap his back like Harumafuji did to Kotoshogiku believing it was a false start. Was that the problem?
d_golem 213 Posted November 22, 2017 Wonderful follow up to Wacky Aki! Cuckoo Kyushu indeed! 5

I didn't think it could even be possible to rival Wacky Aki in the next few years. But boy was I wrong! Dead wrong. Have we had any normal basho this year? I don't think we have, no. 2017, this a year to remember. What the hell is going on? Edited November 22, 2017 by Jyuunomori
Kintamayama 45,144 Posted November 22, 2017 As I said in some private conversations these last days, Hakuhou needed to make people forget about Harumafuji's transgression (which, between us, is no biggie in the behind the scenes sumo world..) by doing something REALLY wild. Here it is. Tin foil at its best. Now, I am very curious to see what will happen. 4 1 3 2

Let's embrace this basho, and all that it will bring. Man, I cannot wait for your video today. Oh man, we had Washi Derby, Hokutofuji, Osunaarashi in Juryo and this whole mess at the end. Your video will be greatness. Edited November 22, 2017 by Jyuunomori

Doesn't that make him, like, really cool??
Shibouyama 1 Posted November 22, 2017 Yeah, that was crazy. Never seen that in my 16 years in Japan watching sumo. I was waiting for a new thread to show up, but the talk about it is in here. Really bad manners I'd say and a total breach of etiquette. Yokozuna, more than anyone, are supposed to act with dignity. Hakuho is usually very dignified. Seems way out of character to me. robnplunder 975 Posted November 22, 2017 There have been some sad events for sumo in this basho. F*kuho's latest antic, Chioshoma's late slap to Hokotufuji after a matta, and what else are there under the mattress? Shame.
Jyuunomori 226 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) 14 minutes ago, Stein said: Well, nothing will happen. Are they going to punish the greatest yokozuna to ever live for a 1 minute staredown? I hope that they are not such a cucks. More importantly, are they not going to punish the greatest Yokozuna for disruptive behavior that not only breached etiquette but also made a Yokozuna, the greatest rikishi look like a child who can do whatever the hell he wishes, and not look ashamed at all? If they do not punish him at all for this kind of behavior, it will only seem like they condone or encourage this sort of behavior. Hakuho is either gonna be Kyujo starting either tomorrow or day after. Or they are simply going to have him sit out next basho. Imagine him winning the Yusho now, especially when he acted like this? It will still be on the mind of too many people and it will make Sumo look TERRIBLE. A manchild just won the highest honor. Tsubame 361 Posted November 22, 2017 Hakuho shared the common misconception of megalomaniacs of thinking of being bigger than Jesus... I mean being bigger than the sport.
robnplunder 975 Posted November 22, 2017 I am sure the die hard Japanese sumo fans are more than happy to see Mongolian yokozunas replaced by Japanese ones. GOAT or not, I have seen enough of Hakuho myself. Anyone care to educate me on the Ossunarashi's elbow hit to Tsurugisho's jaw? Was that a legal move? In soccer, the player using an elbow like that would get ejected from the game.
