I noticed that. Lots of people bamboozled by Kotoshogiku

Lots of people bamboozled by the whole basho.  The median W-L is 2-5!

I was pretty sure that there was unusual potential today for a big score in OddSumo.

It did not disappoint!

However, those who just missed out on that big score (including me) can now feel unusually bad.

Today was a great chance.

Andonishiki is surely slapping himself silly now for having bet only one ante.  (Laughing...)

not at all - this marks my first 100plus score ever, #11 historically

and very likely the highest score ever with one ante ;)

the tasks ahead are

to bring this YUSHO home safely and keep my ‘well deserved’ TOP LEFT banzuke position

and clinch the 2017 title as

ODD World Champion ... a.k.a. Odd-God

they’ve both never played Odd, so not eligible

better not ask them to join the game, they might use ‘Mongolian Insight’ in their favor ;)

This is a fantastic bet, great job Andonishiki!

Makes my 98 with an ante of 3 look pathetic!

Three kinboshi today in Sekitori Toto:

One for Terarno (Kotoshogiku), and two for Aderechelseamaru (Takekaze and Yoshikaze).

Edit: by the way, this is only the sixth day in Toto history with three kinboshi (never by the same player at once). There have never been more than three.

And another "by the way": Unsurprisingly Choshu-Yuki leads the alltime kinboshi ranking with 45, followed by Terarno and Hana-ichi with 11 each.

And the rikishi granting the most kinboshi is Yoshikaze with 13 after today.

I must say I've been highly impressed by @Suwihuto in Quad...what an incredible performance, and such a shame about that day-one absence. In fact, the Swift has been impressive in several games this basho.

thanks yoshi...

your ‘delayed’ tachi-ai very likely destroyed my odd-sumo yusho.

is that why the ‘Hak’ was so angry ??

:)  :)  :)

I'm not 100% sure, but is this when only one person picks the right winner in Toto?  Are there selection stats somewhere to make this easier to see, or do you have to drill into every player's picks?  I haven't seen the former, although I haven't looked all that hard.

You're right about kinboshi. And there have been clickable selection stats before the game moved to sumogames.de. I had to drill into the database to crunch the numbers above.

Chiyonokuni won today without a single pick in Toto. I thought this was a rare thing, but it happened 229 times already. (Three times by Chiyonokuni alone this year.)

The Kings of unsupported winning:

Okinoumi    12
Takekaze    10
Yoshikaze    9

(...always those blasted Oguruma boys!)

Easy entry for me in Quad today - 20 rikishi to choose from, and four projected winners among them...
