Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 3, 2003 Wow, you posted the update before it's on the kyokai home page (or at least the English version of the kyokai home page) :-)

Zentoryu 154 Posted March 3, 2003 Musashimaru has officially announced his Kyujo for Haru-basho, Oosaka. I'm glad he made this decision. No take a chance of wrestling when the wrist still isn't completely healed. It should be interesting to see what the press has to say about this, especially after all the time Taka took off. (Huh?) QttP 0 Posted March 7, 2003 Musashimaru has officially announced his Kyujo for Haru-basho, Oosaka. That means Asashoryu will be East Yokozuna in Natsu.
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 7, 2003 That means Asashoryu will be East Yokozuna in Natsu. Is that automatic, even if Asashoryu has for example a 10-5 record?
Yubiquitoyama 4 Posted March 7, 2003 That means Asashoryu will be East Yokozuna in Natsu. Is that automatic, even if Asashoryu has for example a 10-5 record? As long as he gets one win. I think Maru will remain Yokozuna East if Asashoryu goes kyujo with no wins, as Tochiazuma did last basho, though.

I think Maru will remain Yokozuna East if Asashoryu goes kyujo with no wins, as Tochiazuma did last basho, though. I think so too. If both Yokozuna show the same record, it's likely that their positions will remain as they were prior to the basho.
