First sumo run in Japan

Recommended Posts

This awful sight has entered Japan now - in Fukuoka the first (absolutely not-)sumo run took place, about 160 took part - to continue Kumamoto quake disaster relief. In Kumamoto one with 1000 is planned for October.

Japan is the only place in the world where you can have 160 actual somotori taking part in a sumo run. No need for this sad sight at all.
Why don't they change into a different costume for this event in Japan? Run like bears or gorillas or a brick wall.

Actually, yes. "Osumou-san" is how they are also called, which can mean "sumos". In English it sounds off,  but in Japanese? Works.

don't agree.....osumou-san  is more like sumo-man (men) for me than just sumos ...sumos for osumou-san would be footballs for football-player in english.....
