Glorious afro want's to stay glorious afro, resisting heavily. The should let him grow it and just razor it down to a mage. Whatever happens, the outcome won't be nice to look at.

A 4-3 brings him to a very promotable position around Jd3/4. Hope he makes it. He has to tone down little, he's a bit too hasty. But i love it!

And now he's moved to 3-0 with a day 5 win!

A 5-2 record I would think get him near the top of Jonidan, while 6-1 would get him back to Sandanme. Ganbatte!

It's nice to see him coming back determined.  He still has a lot of work to do, but has obviously been focusing and working hard since November and it has been paying off.  頑張って!

5-2 is plenty to get back to Sandanme.

4-3 would probably put him very close, but is unlikely - none of the promotions are any time recently (given it's restricted to 1990 and later).

Watching Wakaichiro's bouts almost nearly wiped out the Brodie-sized disappointment from my memory...

Methinks our young Ichiro is in better company than Brodie was. And I would imagine he has a little bit more exposure to Japanese culture than Brodie had as well.

Not that I know how much exposure he got as a kid, but this sounds like "practically none" is more than "absolutely none".

His mothers family lives in Nagasaki, and he has lived with them during the summer. He holds Japanese Nationality as well. So I would conclude that he has had far more exposer than most foreigners (which he does not count as for the limit of one per Heya) joining Sumo.

Here he is, 5-2 for hatsu, sandanme is likely for haru.  Dosukoi Ichiro!

Admins, may I humbly suggest that we move this thread into the 'Featured Heya and Rikishi' forum?  There seems to be ongoing interest in this lad and it will be easier to find in future.  Many thanks.

Do you really want to have this thread dead and buried? Nobody ever reads or posts over there...
