July to me again about those stains?- Invitation to plow GTB-Nagoya 2017- AND RESULTS!!

Sorry, no answer. Please try again later.

It's the bi-monthly invitation to play the  GTB - the awesome between- bashos "Guess the Banzuke" game!!

Rules: Guess the Banzuke. Simple. You get two points for a bulls-eye and one point for just getting the rank right. You get no points for eating with your mouth full.

Tiebreakers - Most total guesses, then, we check the banzuke backwards - getting the lower half right will be more important now. The most correct guesses in the last ten places will win the tiebreaker. If still tied , we go up a ranking at a time like a penalty shootout. Then we exchange pleasantries.
It's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. It's going to be your fault if you don't notice that your entry went missing in the Internet void. No late entries will be expected or accepted .

Deadline- Monday, June 19th, 2017 which is very soon at 18:00 GMT ("Goueidou May Try") - PLEASE NOTE-THIS IS ONE WEEK BEFORE THE OFFICIAL BANZUKE ANNOUNCEMENT!!

NEW!!! The Awesome GTB Helper, conceived by Tsuchinoninjin -  makes making an entry a piece of cake!!

Special thanks to Andoreasu who runs it, Doitsuyama who automates and maintains it and to baloney sandwiches.

can the entry forum adjusted to allow morethan 42 ?

I doubt it, since I was the one that spurred them to make sure it checked.  There is absolutely no reason to think there will not be exactly 42 rikishi in Makuuchi.  I'm not sure if you're thinking there's going to be more or less, but there's a way to effectively make more predictions than you're allowed (and score for them) in unsure situations if you're allowed to have more than 42 and there are an odd number of sanyaku.

It would be highly appreciated if @Tsuchinoninjin could switch the entry form to Nagoya :-) it´s been a great help the last times and I think it helped me come up with an entry a lot faster (the result was rubbish as usual but hey it´s not my fault that the old guys at the Kyokai just do whatever they like ;-) )

To tide you over until the web-based helper is hopefully updated, you can find a Google Docs-based version here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VnH1QuxGBYnEVO2TZ-cl4CMCLgDEdeN_jI3pETC7Vx4/

It's set to view-only for unavoidable reasons; in order to edit it, you will have to copy it to your own Google account, or download it in Excel / Open Office format and work with it locally. Usage: Just enter the desired ranks into the NewRk columns and the rikishi will be filled into the new banzuke on the right. I've filled in the four yokozuna ranks to (hopefully) demonstrate how it works.

Thx for the Google docs table.... that was shortest time I ever needed to submit my entry...but just because I had to do it in my lunch break (Laughing...)
I can see myself falling down the Banzuke already :-S

I can definitely see why the M1-5'ish ranks are thought of as a meat grinder. In the few GTB I've done (either on my own time or submitted), it was hard because those positions were rightfully needing to be vacated.  I don't envy the folks who write this stuff up.

Have to say this is the first time I've ever gotten to play this game in this format, but I'm certainly thankful for the opportunity. Hard to believe the release is only a week away!

Almost forgot tomorrow's deadline, but just submitted my GTB entry - only 56 entries so far.

I am really asking myself: Why don't ya wanNa go, y'all? ;-)

Come on everyone, join on in the frustr... I mean the fun!

Whoever figures out the ranks M7-12 should have a big chance to take the yusho, in my opinion.

That.was.really.tough.

I am not confident of any of the maegashira ranks other than M1E and M16E!!!

The "super-lenient to joi makekoshi" approach, basically. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Chiyonokuni goes to M11 or something, though...

I went with "super-lenient to joi makekoshi" as well, let's hope it was the way to go!

Oh, oops.  I had my entry done the day after the last basho, but was holding out for news and forgot to submit.

You still have a long way to go to beat me on bashos "forgotten to enter," I have always intended to enter every basho but check my record in GTB to see how many times I forgot

That should make you feel better about missing this one.....

I did too, which is probably bad news for the rest of you going by my GTB track record.

Hey sorry, I just realized this ended today. The syacho has been lurking the past few weeks making any kind of free time difficult (honestly I was scrambling to see if Kotoshogiku had retired in the waning hour before the deadline, I have no idea what's been going on lately).

I'll do next basho bright and early.
