Aldofuji 21 Posted January 29, 2017 Hi and thanks for allowing me to this wonderful forum. After reading as anonymous I made the jump to be able to ask some questions, but don't worry I'll try to read as much as possible before. There are several wonderful threads to study for a newcomer to the sumo world like me. I'm after this discipline since just one year. Greetings from Italy.

Aldofuji 21 Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) Thank you for the greetings. As a newbie here I am very happy with the quantity and quality of information the site is offering. Reading the posts the first problem I encountered is the sumo "parlance", the great number of japanese terms. I learned lots of them before but you are a mine of new ones! In this case the glossary is really helpful. Sometimes rikishi names are abbreviated, so I'm going to guess, who is doing what, but I'll learn. The picture topic is really great: it gives an insight of the real life of rikishi, outside the dohyo. For now I have more topics on my to-read list than I have time, I still have some work to do during the day ;) Saluti a tutti!
