He'll hoist the cup twice. Once in January/March and again in July. First will be 14-1 and the second will be a zensho.

I'm pretty optimistic for him. 1x15-0 Y, 1x14-1 Y, 1x13-2, 2x12-3, 1x11-4. 77 wins? Different than what I voted for, but oh well.

2 Yusho probably. Zero zensho. At least 1 kyujo. No long winning streaks.

2 yusho, no zensho

65/90

12 streak

It might be san kyu (39) and goodnight, but my western head still thinks he'll go for his 40th yusho before intai.

Winding down....  Just one yusho (non-zensho), 70 wins, with the longest streak of 16 (from the end of the March basho, through to the start of the May basho).

2 yusho, no zensho, no kyujo, 74 wins, 14 streak only though

Still persisting and will get most wins for the year again after missing in 2016

I think he will come back strong this year, not only because he healed up but he also still got some records he does't hold yet, which helps with the motivation (1048 wins in order to break Kaio's record.)

winning 3 yusho, 1 zensho and 79 overall wins with a 32 win streak

Poll now locked (thanks Jakusotsu).

It seems that Hakuho is predicted to win two yushos this year.

The predictions for the total number of wins, and the longest undefeated streak for Hakuho seem to be a lot lower than in previous years.  Do we all sense that he is on the decline?

Not yet... sure his second half of 2016 wasnt great but I feel he was recovering, not trying to inflict more damage. I dont see him go with 31 or even 32 years of age, not hakuho.

So....

This was Hakuho's year:-

Jan: Y2E (11-4)
Mar: Y1E (2-3-10)
May: Y2W (15-0 Y)
Jul: Y1E (14-1 Y)
Sep: Y1E (0-0-15)
Nov: Y1W (14-1 Y)

So, three yushos (including one zensho yusho), two bashos with injury and another with 11 wins.  Up-and-downy!  But mostly uppy! (Now on 40 yushos!  Will he ever be matched?)

The three yushos were predicted by sesom,  Benihana, Tenshinhan and SumpaX.

The injury plagued year meant that Hakuho only managed a total of 56 wins for the year.  inhashi got this spot on!  (Iamnotworthy...)  (I am the Yokozuna and Kintamayama both came very close).

Hakuho's longest winning streak was from day 1 in May, until he lost on day 11 in July to Mitakeumi.  That was a streak of 25 days undefeated!  Tenshinhan got this 100% correct! (Iamnotworthy...)   sesom, Benihana and Kuroyama were near misses.

The comments below question of how many zensho yushos (ONE!) that Hakuho would win, was correctly predicted by the following:- Ryoshishokunin, Benihana, MumboJumbo, Tenshinhan and SumpaX.

Tenshinhan easily wins the yusho! (Yushowinner...)  SumpaX collects a distant Jun-Yusho. (Secondprize...)
