Jejima Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 Copying and pasting.... Day 1: Kotoyuki Day 2: Chiyonokuni I guess that I should try and get a couple of early wins under the belt.
Gurowake Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 The news about Okinoumi doesn't sound very good. I think there's a good chance he's kyujo, but I have no idea if his decision would be announced ahead of the torikumi coming out. I'm almost inclined to just boldly decide that he will be kyujo and not on the torikumi even if he doesn't announce it, because it doesn't sound like he's in shape to compete, but I'm not quite that brave. If Okinoumi announces he is withdrawing before the deadline for this game: 1. Takayasu 2. Terunofuji Otherwise: 1. Kotoyuki 2. Chiyonokuni
Andonishiki Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Pls grant me kyujo status for Kyushu'16. I'll be in Fukuoka day 1-5, probably sending some live reports from Kokusai Center and in HK day 6-8. not sure about web connection & time constraints. I'll be very likely able to do gyoji / commentary duties in the second weak, once I get back to hot & humid Singapore. Kanpai
orandashoho Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Choo choo choo... 1. Kotoyuki 2. Chiyonokuni
Gurowake Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Interestingly, while looking to see if Okinoumi had announced his withdrawal, I found a sponichi article that says he was facing Hakuho Day 1 (well, it really says Hakuho is just short of 1000 wins and faces Okinoumi Day 1). Not that this is any surprise, but the article came out before the deadline for this game. Are they just speculating, or do they release the torikumi to the press early? It also says Goeido faces Tochiozan, which is again not a surprise. I then went to check to see if the torikumi was already up on the NSK site, and it was - a couple minutes before usual. No idea if it was up even an hour earlier since that's when the above article came out. Edited November 11, 2016 by Gurowake
