Wild guesses thread Kyushu 2016

Because why not? You're welcome to post the most unrealistic predictions you'd never submit to sumo games, or predict things sumo games never take into account, be it rare kimarite, silly incidents or new warmup dances.

Shikimori Inosuke will have at least two sashichigae against him, and one very questionable torinaoshi decision. The torinaoshi will be in the last 5 days and will play a role in the yusho race.

On a slightly more serious note: Hokutofuji to start at least 7-1 and finish with at least 11 wins. (I don't think I'll dare predict that for Oracle or Hoshitori.)

Goeidou is denied the yusho and his yokozuna hopes are dashed by Kotoshogiku, who picks up his second yusho.

Goeido 15-0 Y (Becomes 72nd Yokozuna-Unryu Style)

Kisenosato 13-2 J (Restarts his Tsunatori)

Ichinojo 13-2 J (Mirroring his performance 2 years Ago)

Takayasu 12-3 K (Becomes Ozeki)

Mitakeumi 8-7 S (Defeats Kakuryu on Day 5)

Kakuryu 1-4 (Intai announcement following loss to Mitakeumi)

This would be a VERY MEMORABLE CLOSE to 2016.

Kisenosato went kyujo on the final day of the January 2014 tournament.

In the juryo division, at least one of the two rikishis at each rank will get the number of wins corresponding to its rank, from J1 (1-14 record) to J14 (14-1 record)

Hattorizakura goes kachi-koshi.   Nah, too unrealistic, even for this thread.

Hakuho comes back strong from injury, but loses to a random doofus like Endo and doesn't take the yusho ;-)

Goeido, feeling the pressure to become Japan's first Yokozuna in a long time loses his first match to Aoiyama. He drops four more bouts to finish at 10-5 and ends with no promotion.

Everyone expects Hakuho, Goeido or Harumafuji to be the winner, but the yusho is claimed by someone that no-one thought was capable of winning it - Kisenesato.

Terunofuji scores 8-7 despite having to be helped on and off the dohyo for every bout by the yobidashi.

8-7 for Terunofuji is possible.  What's not likely?  He goes 4-11 make-koshi and loses his Ozekiship.   Then, he never makes it back to Ozeki and goes Intai is 2 years.
