Not that it really matters. And you will miss the "jubilee edition"?? 8 hours ago, Jejima said: Here is the new Bench banzuke for November 2024. It will be our 150th jubilee! Jejima 1,346 Posted December 1 Hi all, I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Frinkanohana to the rank of Ozeki for January 2025. This will mark the 21st anniversary (i.e. 21 years) since the debut of Frinkanohana way back in January 2004, when he started the game at the rank of sd23W - and ending his debut basho with a fine 11-4 record. We look forward to hearing his acceptance speech, and learning what sort of OZeki he plans to be. Jejima (BS rijicho)
Jejima 1,346 Posted Saturday at 11:25 To those that celebrate it, Merry Christmas! I have received the following missive from the venerable chair of the Bench Sumo Yokozuna Deliberation Council, Maruzhiki-zeki... Venerable Rijicho The BSYDC has had a discussion on the past year's Bashos and performances of some of the higher ranking rikishi. The majority are in the belief that some of the tournaments have been very challenging for all. In particular for our esteemed Yokozuna Pandaazuma. As we have seen in the past year, or so the Yokozuna in the real life Sumo has had challenges health wise, and has missed several bashos for those health concerns. Which all adds to making things more difficult for us Cyber Rikishi.. It is the belief we should offer Pandaazuma our encouragement and cheer him on to great things in the 2025 Sumo season. Sometimes real life interferes with the fun things in life. and we hope he can continue to compete at the high standard that saw him ascend these great heights. That being said, after 25 years of BS, this particular year, has certainly come zooming past us with great speed, and it is difficult to comprehend that the Festive season is rapidly approaching. The BSYDC would like to wish everyone a safe and fun festive season and hope your health and well being are on the improve if you have been unwell. May 2025 bring us all health, happiness and a comfortable living so there are no stresses with finances. For some of us 2025 brings major milestones in our lives..... if you are one of those who will be reaching a milestone birthday in 2025, (like myself with a big goose egg at the end ie: "0"). May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Marushiki (Chair BS YDC) May I also mention that I also give my full support to Yokozuna pandaazuma to find his winning ways once again. I would also urge that the three Ozekis continue to strive hard. We have never had two Yokozunas at the same time in Bench Sumo - this is something that I am longing to see! All the very best, Jejima (BS rijicho)
