Athenayama 999 Posted July 16, 2022 1 hour ago, Sumo Spiffy said: 1. Technique Prize appears to just be highest scoring/scoring average (I assume these would be the same since we're all playing the same number of days). 2. KCC is the single bracket knockout thing, and it's two days of play for one round of the bracket? 3. The Quality of Sumo award seems to be based on points for what rank of opponents you beat? It looks like you get tons of points for beating sanyaku competition, so how does anyone too low to face them get anywhere? 4. I don't even have a guess as to how the Fighting Spirit Prize works. 5. Same for the Outstanding Performance Prize. 6. The ICF is the team competition, right? How do you join an ichimon for that? 7. Is the Oyakata prize connected to the ichimons? Uh... I think that's it. For now, anyway. Thanks in advance for any answers. In short have a look here below. Oshirokita posted the relevant links already though. I also posted the basic rules link to you here last week 2. Correct. 3. Only Makuuchi and Juryo players are concernend by that feature, us poor Makushitans have to wait to climb the ladder to appear in that table. 4. FSP gathers the players who get the most perfect days in a basho. 14 points is the perfect score, all your main team wins (4+3+3+2+2 points). The player with the most perfect scores during a basho wins the prize. At least 3 perfect days and a KK are required. 5. Only Makuuchi players concerned by that prize. 6. To be honest the Ichimon pages is kinda outdated. If you wish to join one of them, maybe try to post a message here with your wish. There will probably be someone to read it and contact you. 7. The Oyakata prize counts the most GBL. (ganbare line-ups). A 'ganbare line-up' happens when all victorious rikishi are placed above all losing rikishi. 3 GBL at least are required to be eligible to win the prize.

Jejima 1,346 Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) Regarding Ichimons, and who to join.... If you speak French, join the Info-Sumo Ichimon If you speak German, Doitsugo is for you If you speak Japanese, of have an affinity with Japan, consider joining Sakura If you come from New England (USA), or are female (from anywhere), consider joining MassaSHEgawa If you feel strongly attached to this Sumo Forum, consider joining Sumo Forum If you feel strongly attached to a defunct English language Sumo Forum, maybe SumoTalk could be for you If you are against automatically pressing the 'henka' button, and/or are related to me, come from the UK, a Commonwealth country (Canada, Australia, New Zealand....), Netherlands, Scandinavia, or if you are called Jakusotsu - then maybe the 'North Pole' ichimon is your natural home. Jejima 1,346 Posted July 23, 2022 Hi all, The automation is being a bit of a pinkle-ponkle, and not showing day 15. There is a work around this, by changing the final number in the web address from '14' to '15'. Alternatively, you can click on this link --> <http://benchsumo.sumogames.de/DailyEntry.aspx?D=15> and that (with luck) should take you to the correct site.... Athenayama 999 Posted July 25, 2022 These last 15 days, my mailbox was receiving plenty of emails titled "Bench Sumo ......" . Delightful feeling to open each one and discover their content. Today.... nothing. Where is my daily shot of BS updates, results, torikumi, comments and I don't know what else? Am I becoming a Bench Sumo addict? Does anyone else have the same feeling or am I just weird? Delete August and bring September ASAP !

Jejima 1,346 Posted August 2, 2022 Hi all, I have received the following missive from the very honorable Marushiki, chair of the Bench Sumo Yokozuna Deliberation Council... Jejima (BS rijicho) Esteemed Rijicho The Bench Sumo Yokozuna Deliberation Council has met at our HQ, and discussed the state of play. With the given Covid crisis that has hit every country, and affected a number of the Real Rikishi causing them to leave mid Basho. It has been a difficult few months. Thereby affecting how the Bench Rikishi results have been affected. We can only hope that everyone's strength and physical condition improves over the next few months. That being said, the Ozeki and Yokozuna have had difficult results. We offer our support and encouragement to gather their strength, and do better next Basho. Though we do understand if our esteemed Yokozuna Taka, chooses to step down, if he feels it is his wish to do so. We can only hope that things will start to look up soon, and everyone in the real and cyber sumo worlds stay well and safe. We shall be keeping a very stern and critical eye on the Yokozuna and Ozeki, and it is our hope that they may return to the form that saw them appointed to their high ranking. Jejima 1,346 Posted August 2, 2022 Hi all! The banzuke committee has met, and it has been decided to promote toonoryu to the rank of Ozeki. toonoryu has the following results in the past three bashos.... March 2022: M2W (10-5) May 2022: K1W (10-5) July 2022: S1W (9-6) This means that he is one win less than the guidelines for promotion. However, the banzuke committee decided to take into consideration what was happening elsewhere in the banzuke, with both the existing Ozekis going into September with kadoban status. Additionally, the Yokozuna had double digit losses in July, so will be under some scrutiny for a better performance in September too. Bench Sumo rules state that there must be at least two Ozekis/Yokozunas on the banzuke at all times. Therefore, toonoryu gets given the nod now, just in case.... We look forward to hearing his Ozeki promotion acceptance speech. Jejima (Bench Sumo rijicho)

Players who have a chance (even if very remote) of going to a new 'multiple of 100' career wins in September . 4. The current top 20 leaderboard for the *all-time* total number of wins. 5.
