Akinomaki 35,584 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) This time it's not rikishi betting on baseball, but outsiders betting on the Nagoya basho wins and losses. Of course only those who are not from organized crime get arrested - members of organized crime are simply doing it in a registered organization. It happened in Osaka Mainichi shimbun sales offices, an employee let 14 workers of 3 offices gamble for 500yen a bet and kept a commission: thus he made money out of it - and he did it for 4 years, with bets on high school baseball etc. as well. http://www.sankei.com/west/news/160825/wst1608250037-n1.html Edited August 25, 2016 by Akinomaki

Atenzan 1,074 Posted August 25, 2016 I wonder what were the odds on offer. I assume that no such data has been published though, gambling being illegal in Japan and all.
