Ok, it looks like it ditches the entirety of nested quotes, like another board I frequent.  At least there's the multi-quote option, but that doesn't help a ton if replies are broken down.  More testing.

Double carriage return will insert a quote break, but the cursor gets bugged initially after doing so and typing comes out backward.

I managed to be able to type normally by highlighting text, deleting it, then starting to type again.  I'm not sure what parts of that routine were actually necessary.  Maybe just using the mouse to move the cursor?  More testing to come.

POintless edit.

Apparently all you have to do is click your mouse to "change" where the cursor is and the bugged cursor is fixed.  You don't even have to actually change where it is, just give the computer the command to move it, and it will stop your backwards typing

Editing the beginning after typing the sdrow eerht tsrif.  Added after editing.  Next three words after moving cursor.

So it looks like quote editing isn't that bad other than this one issue.

After breaking them down, you can move them around however you like using a handle on the top left, embedding them in each other if you wish, but that takes a bit of manipulation and allows you to create nonsensical quote nesting.

I guess it's...nice?...that the quote constantly updates how long ago it was instead of just stating when it was.  But the timestamps on some of the quotes disappeared after the edit.

manually created quote in reply box that would be used in quoting outside sources

Doesn't look like you can specify who the quote is from other than using a typical attribution  --Gurowake

It looks like the timestamps are stripped out of any quotes that you broke apart if you edit the post after you submit it.  If you had multiple quote sources, each of the first timestamps remain, but the subsequent chunks you may have created lose them.  They also lose the attribution, which is a much bigger deal.  It's just like they're generic quotes.
