Hakuhou records a single

Recommended Posts

Yokozuna Hakuhou has recorded a single with Japanese singer Kae and it will drop on February 24th. It's the first time that an active Yokozuna records music since Wajima recorded an album back in 1978. The song is dedicated to the earthquake victims and was first heard on a TV show back in 2014. The lyrics are by Kae and the music by the singer Shuji Kashiwabara and it's a ballad. After the TV show was broadcast, many people asked if there was a CD available. Hakuhou, although very busy, listened to the song and then practiced singing it at a local Karaoke bar. During the recording itself, although producer Kashiwabara OK'd his singing, he thought he could do better and recorded it numerous times until he was satisfied. "I just hope this song will help strengthen the spirit of those affected by the earthquake," he said. "I saw how seriously the Yokozuna was regarding this project and I could feel his great concern for the victims.." added Kae.

Hakuho even gets top billing! In the US the cd would be billed as Kae featuring Hakuho.

Or even Kae Vs. Hakuhou

That almost sounds like a new "Japan Special" matchup from the series

Epic Rap Battles of History

Haven't heard it, of course, but I am afraid there's a good possibility that it should be "Kae despite Hakuho"...
