Kintamayama 47,347 Posted November 27, 2015 The winter Jungyo commences this Sunday and runs till December 13th. Goueidou- wrist injury. Apparently, the injury happened before Kyushu basho during keiko. "He has been doing sumo with his left hand last basho .. This is really inexcusable, but it's better if he rests the whole jungyo," said Sakaigawa Oyakata. Endou will also miss the jungyo. According to people in the know, in addition to his famous left knee injury, he injured his right ankle during the basho. Others sitting out- Oosunaarashi, Sadanoumi, Kyokushuuhou, Tokitenkuu, and Juryo Seirou, Oonoshou, and Asabengay benkei.

I am not speaking as a fan, but as a neutral observer. :-D http://www.bengay.com/

Kasutera 258 Posted November 27, 2015 No rest for Terunofuji? :-( I know he beat Hakuho with a bum wheel and all, but he needs to rest so he can start a proper tsuna run.
Benevolance 2,534 Posted November 27, 2015 Kyokutenho quit too soon. If he'd held on a couple basho, he might have grabbed a second yusho with all the injuries at the top.

Akinomaki 41,851 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) No rest for Terunofuji? :-( I know he beat Hakuho with a bum wheel and all, but he needs to rest so he can start a proper tsuna run. Osunaarashi (the other thread) opted for surgery and (hopefully) full recovery, with the danger of dropping down, maybe even to makushita. Terunofuji doesn't want to lose his rank and abandoned the hope for full recovery, just like Endo: they are trying to stabilize the injured part with more muscles. The article mentions the also greater danger of re-injury, compared to surgery and recovery. Without a new kosho system to enable the rikishi to sit out at least one tournament to recover, most new hopes may never be able to fulfill the hopes of the fans. http://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2015/12/06/kiji/K20151206011637270.html About Osunaarashi: http://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2015/12/06/kiji/K20151206011632990.html Edited December 6, 2015 by Akinomaki
