aloha friends and fellow sumo lovers

i've been watching seriously for less than a year, and posted a few times

so, guess this makes it official, i am in

up front, without sumotalk i'd be sitting around twiddling thumbs,

"gee, how did that guy lose? i'm sure he's much better than his opponent!"

without getting the politics, sumo doesn't add up

it hurt to see it at first, but now it's half the fun in making picks

so, seeing the preference of members here to overlook the politics

i'll hang back, until i just can't restrain my views

many thanks to all members for their contributions,

especially the longtimers, committed and offering deeper insights

special thanks to kinta

many people have caught on to sumo through his videos

sumo is so beautiful

has changed my life

sincere

wuli

time to get caught up on welcoming the shin-members of the sumo diaspora. you may be from Hawaii based on your salutation. Aloha and welcome. The great Hawaiians get much credit for foreign interest in the sport.

Dont forget what happened a few years back though.......

When 20+ Rikishi where forced to retire because of fixed bouts.........

Sumo lost some credibility then,so dont be so hasty in your answer,it happens but hopefully others learnt a lesson from that.

aloha, friend hamcornheinz

nice to meet you

if you are learning about yaocho and mukiryoku,

there is probably another thread around here for that

maybe check with some of the senior members

i'm a new guy, with few posts, and don't even speak japanese

meanwhile, fujisan has left you a hint

also, sumotalk is an ok place to start, but playing the sumo game is really educational

if you just want to tango,

please send a private message and we'll see what we can work out

How can I not know about yaocho.... its not an explanation for lower rikishi beating higher ranked rikishi. It happens in sports all the time. How much of the time? All the time. So don't blame Hakuho losing on yaocho or anything like that... it doens't happen as much as you think.

welcome back, friend hamcornheinz!

i think this is still the member introductions thread,

and you seem to have now introduced yourself pretty thoroughly

lest we distract fellow members, i welcome you again to a private message, to review together your interests

i'll be happy to find out more about what i think!
