I'm hoping to go the Atsugi one, but it'll all depend on whether I have the financial means to achieve going.

With these 13 days more for the 4th jungyo, the whole year finishes with 64 days of jungyo, much more than last year's 37, at least 60 again after 2001 with 61. Oguruma-oyakata, head of the jungyo department: "For next year it looks like it will be that much or more days."

^Does “File” → “Save page as…” in your browser not work?

You can play the video directly in VLC and record it or use convert to directly save the raw input. The news page itself is already gone.

This is the raw video link to paste into VLC:

rtmp://flv.nhk.or.jp/ondemand/flv/lnews/kagoshima/5055159871_20151003070341.mp4

Edit: Thanks to Rhyen I now found out that the hidden videos can be displayed and saved the same way, no need to use my old complicated ways

What is VLC? and which is the official website that I should use to download?

VLC is a media player which can record nearly everything, at least the windows version. I think the video has to be accessed with the rtmp protocol, so you need a tool that supports it and can also save it.

okay, I am downloading VLC right now.

I might message you to help me troubleshoot any problems I encounter.

If you are not used to VLC, you won't get to the raw input saving easily, simply recording won't record the first few seconds (and the recording button is also hidden at first).

Ctrl-N opens the "Open media" dialog with "network", into where you have to paste the rtmp link.

Alt-O then opens the convert dialog: there select "save raw input" instead of "convert".

You either have to paste the complete path of the destination file into the field for that (the file mustn't exist - override usually fails, the folder must), or have to select the folder and enter the name of the new destination file with .mp4 or .flv.

This is the kind of posting which would be great to have in some kind of information repository. Perhaps you could start a thread with this in it and people could add to its over time?

Hard to find a good place for that - it's not sumo information and in "Off Topic" it will go unnoticed by many and soon vanish out of sight.

Or perhaps you can't start a message there... That's a shame.

It looks like you can't even reply to one.

I'll create a thread in Sumo Information, putting enough sumo into it to make it fit in there, later this week.

Indeed you can't start a thread there (but I think you should be able to answer in an already existing thread). What you can do is create a thread here and then contact a mod (me, let's say) and ask for it to be moved there. If found of general interest, it'll be moved. :-)

Saiki-basho, Oita, the hometown of Yoshikaze, with Yamahibiki-beya being announced for the first time on the dohyo.

Full house yesterday in Saiki, between 3200 and 3300 spectators.

The Saiki jungyo was of course all about Yoshikaze, with the standard employment:

police chief for the day http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/1573818.html

and an extra: as tachi-mochi in Hakuho's doyho-iri, with Daieisho as tsuyu-harai

In an extra bout he won against Ichinojo

With pics that can't be embedded here: http://www.oita-press.co.jp/1010000000/2015/12/02/000529158

- Yoshikaze ashitori against Tochinoshin in the usual torikumi, dohyo-iri

The day before with permission of the jungyo department he went fishing (hopefully not the whole time in mawashi), with Toyonoshima and 2 other sekitori. http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/1573493.html

bt-yosikaze02-151201poy0-w500_0.jpg

Kakuryu went kyujo with pain in the right heel, but plans to rejoin the jungyo after a few days.

Mitakeumi has conjunctivitis at the right eye and also didn't train. Juryo Chiyomaru has a leg injury and returned to Tokyo.

Sakaigawa-oyakata (ex-Ryogoku) visited the Nagasaki governor's office, the jungyo is there on the 3rd.
