2015 HARU - THE UNDERDOG GAME - DAILY TORIKUMI & STANDINGS

Recommended Posts

It's happening!

The clustering which I have been afraid of - 6 gamers chose Ichinojo, and 17 others chose Aminishiki.

This is turning the game into a very predictable one.

Standings after Day 6 don't differ at all from Day 5 as a result of these clusters.

Just like TTT on days like these. I don't think submitting our picks secretly would have changed much.

I agree to a certain extent with you. For example, on Day 1 when the picks were submitted by e-mail or PM Aoiyama was picked 15 times, and Tochinoshin was picked 5 times.

The thing which I am afraid might happen, nevertheless everybody says that he/she doesn'e look what the other picks are (which I don't believe - curiosity is a human trait :-) ), when you observe that so many people chose somebody, and you pick him without even looking what other options are available. Hopefully, I am overthinking here. (Thinking in depth...)

I think you really overthink :-D

Every Day there are some obvious favorites

And for only 2 or 3 of them there are a couple of points

So this 2 or 3 will be choosen by the most of us.

Pitinosato

(in my Mail I will write you the 2 or 3 of Day 7, and I'm sure with these I will have about 80 % of the picks of this day)

When I make my picks for those few games I play, T.U.G. is the last I come to. This is because it's the only game that isn't on the SB.

When I make my pick, it's based on those rikishi I have already picked on the other games and which gives me the best return based on that rational. I wouldn't pick Godzilla to beat King Kong just because of the majority.

Yep...I don't have the slightest interest in other picks! Never even think of looking at other players' ones.

So no worries.

Right, Ronnie...what would the rationale behind that be? Totally irrational! ;)

Regardless of whatever system you used, if you were going to have things based on rank alone there are going to be times that there are overwhelming favorites because the banzuke is not truly reflective of rikishi ability. Aminishiki and Ichinojo were by far the highest expected value that day, and the only thing you could have done to not have that be the case was to make an entirely different paradigm for assigning points, one that doesn't use the banzuke. But since that's kinda the point of the game, it's just one of those things that's going to happen.
