Masumasumasu 902 Posted November 13, 2014 Might have been some rikishi joking around but as you well know there is that small group of really hate filled people who use each and every opportunity to attack Boody and hearing anything like that would have been food for their bile. I only told you a bit of it last time we met but it runs way worse. Spreading rumours and lies, death threats, constant messages sent to his twitter telling him to die, to f$#k off back to Egypt etc. It's been there since the start but has died down recently. Some people just didn't want to see a muslim in sumo. It's one of the reasons he admires and gets on so well with Konishiki. Sale went through a lot of the same crap. Some reported, most not. Who tells Booty to go back to Egypt? Who threatens him and tells him to die? Who are you talking about? Japanese people? I seriously doubt it. Let's see the proof of your accusations. Maybe Muslims are telling him to go back to Egypt. (No, that's not possible. Muslims are all peaceful and enlightened.) I know this; Booty's Facebook page is filled with nothing but praise. Is he erasing all the hate? Perhaps Booty shouldn't be on social media. Maybe he should do more keiko. (His lower body is in no shape for sumo, after all.) Booty should care what the Japanese think of him. He lives in his country and they pay him...handsomely. It's one thing if gaijin are saying these things. It is quite another thing if Nihon-jin are. Gaijin opinions should fall like water off a duck's back. And furthermore; if Konishiki resents Japan and Japanese people so much, why the hell does he continue to live there and speak their language? Hawaii is a beautiful place (so I hear). Maybe he'd be happier there. Just my two yen.
Kotoshoumi 31 Posted November 13, 2014 The discussions about henka in sumo remind me off the discussions about "pulling guard" in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. My two cents: I can enjoy a good guard pull in Bjj, as I can also enjoy a good executed henka in sumo. If it works and it's legal, why should it be frowned upon? I feel it adds to the excitement and variety of sumo that henka is an option at the tachiai. I feel it's just another technique that rikishi need to be able to defend.

Hawaii is a beautiful place (so I hear). Maybe he'd be happier there.Just my two yen. I don't think anyone said that Konishiki resents the Japanese people.. What was said was that he had a very hard time when he was coming up the ranks and later, from senpai, from the Kyokai and from the press. I think he is mature enough to separate the "Japanese people" from the few haters and live with it quite well, actually. Boody has been there for a short few years. I'm pretty sure that his elbow strategy won himself quite a few haters and that he definitely does delete the negative stuff from his social media pages. We all do. As for Nishinoshima- I know him-he doesn't lie. If he says it's a duck-it's a duck.
Asameshimae 220 Posted November 13, 2014 The Big Sandy talk I heard from all the die hard fans who sit and watch sumo all day everyday (mostly retired people obviously) was that there was talk among wrestlers (especially ones that had taken the forearm) that Osuna could very well be hiding some piece of metal or the like in the wrapping he had on his forearm when he executed that "move". Regardless of the veracity of this claim, it seems the forearm move is no longer in Big Sandy's repetoire. I've seen some BS on this forum before but that takes the biscuit. Gotta say bud I'm really surprised you would put that kind of nonsense out there. Even if you did hear it from the drunk gossipers, it's surprising you didn't have the common sense to dismiss it immediately. Is all the negativity your masu mate pours out finally getting to you? 1) People are entitled to their opinions. To blame me for another person's comment is like blaming Booty for the atrocities of ISIS. 2) One person's 'negativity' is another person's reality. Masu mate was not a reference to you.
Highway 46 Posted November 13, 2014 Aoiyama can push everyone out with that force, wow. Kise should have learned by now he just go in straight with him like that
Asameshimae 220 Posted November 14, 2014 Aoi's decisive defeat of K-sato (If I just say Kise, all I can think of Kise beya which he isn't even a rikishi of) is the first time in quite a while I have thought he was real san'yaku material.

Masumasumasu 902 Posted November 14, 2014 Guess the masu "die-hards" kinda missed the fact that the supporter was on his upper arm not his forearm. Who is 'masu'? I assume it is I, the community punching bag. I never said anything about metal in the forearm. I never said anything about cheating. I said that the kachi-age to the face was in bad taste. Moti says that you know your ducks. Fair enough. But you are wrong if the 'masu' you refer to is I.

The duck expert seems to imply that Sandstorm is being abused. That, the 'hate' Oosunaarashi is subjected to is in excess of what he would experience in another, more 'tolerant' country. In other words, "Booty would be Yokozuna by now if the Japanese weren't so damned racist." Hogwash.

I even saw one dude at Yasukuni on New Years Day dressed EXACTLY like Hirohito. But, doesn't every country have nationalists? Is Japan alone in that respect? Asameshimae 220 Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) Fair play to him too because Ichi was nowhere near the monster then that he is now, either in terms of size or sumo ability. Minato saw the potential Glad you adds that extra detail; that makes it allege more interesting. Edited November 14, 2014 by Asameshimae
Asameshimae 220 Posted November 14, 2014 I used my sumo app's one free bout view a day ability just to see what the excitement was about. Way to go Yasu! No need to stop at Ama. Three times was enough. You had bigger fish to fry. :)
gonishiki 0 Posted November 14, 2014 I'm very dissapointed with Kisenosato. His firsts bouts shown us his inconsistency, although his great technic. really , I hope to improve his performance in this basho. After 5 days, my favorites are Aoyima, Tochinosin and Kyokutenho. Adil 232 Posted November 14, 2014 Great victory for Takayasu! I wonder, though, if Hakuho would have stayed up had his left foot not slipped on top of the tawara. For a second I thought he was going to pull out an impossible escape. Super match between Ichinojo and Kakuryu as well. Good old fashioned belt fight. kuroimori 1,634 Posted November 14, 2014 Not that he can afford it in his current shape, but Kise ows a big-time favor to Tochiozan BTW, I just wondered if Tochiozan is in fact derived from TO(u)CHi-O(utside)ZAN(nen)
krindel 671 Posted November 14, 2014 Takayasu gives a big spark of interest to the rest of the basho, while joining the small club of people who won a kinboshi against Hakuho, one year and 10 months (or 11 basho) since the last one. For the record, the 7 other people who have gotten a kinboshi out of Hakuho are Kisenosato (twice), Toyonoshima, Aminishiki, Shotenro (!), Toyohibiki (!!), Tochiozan and Miyogiryu. Interestingly, all are still active :-).
Aoiyama rule's!!!!! Mongolith 51 Posted November 14, 2014 Another Yok doing the slip and slide. Taka really employing tsupari well first against Hara and now Hak. Ichi may not have a great offensive game but that is the type of effort I expect of him against the top guys.
