Might have been some rikishi joking around but as you well know there is that small group of really hate filled people who use each and every opportunity to attack Boody and hearing anything like that would have been food for their bile. I only told you a bit of it last time we met but it runs way worse. Spreading rumours and lies, death threats, constant messages sent to his twitter telling him to die, to f$#k off back to Egypt etc. It's been there since the start but has died down recently. Some people just didn't want to see a muslim in sumo. It's one of the reasons he admires and gets on so well with Konishiki. Sale went through a lot of the same crap. Some reported, most not.

Who tells Booty to go back to Egypt? Who threatens him and tells him to die? Who are you talking about? Japanese people? I seriously doubt it.

The discussions about henka in sumo remind me off the discussions about "pulling guard" in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

My two cents: I can enjoy a good guard pull in Bjj, as I can also enjoy a good executed henka in sumo.

If it works and it's legal, why should it be frowned upon? I feel it adds to the excitement and variety of sumo that henka is an option at the tachiai. I feel it's just another technique that rikishi need to be able to defend.

I don't think anyone said that Konishiki resents the Japanese people.. What was said was that he had a very hard time when he was coming up the ranks and later, from senpai, from the Kyokai and from the press. I think he is mature enough to separate the "Japanese people" from the few haters and live with it quite well, actually. Boody has been there for a short few years. I'm pretty sure that his elbow strategy won himself quite a few haters and that he definitely does delete the negative stuff from his social media pages. We all do. As for Nishinoshima- I know him-he doesn't lie. If he says it's a duck-it's a duck.

The Big Sandy talk I heard from all the die hard fans who sit and watch sumo all day everyday (mostly retired people obviously) was that there was talk among wrestlers (especially ones that had taken the forearm) that Osuna could very well be hiding some piece of metal or the like in the wrapping he had on his forearm when he executed that "move". Regardless of the veracity of this claim, it seems the forearm move is no longer in Big Sandy's repetoire.

I've seen some BS on this forum before but that takes the biscuit. Gotta say bud I'm really surprised you would put that kind of nonsense out there. Even if you did hear it from the drunk gossipers, it's surprising you didn't have the common sense to dismiss it immediately. Is all the negativity your masu mate pours out finally getting to you?

I never said anything about metal in the forearm. I never said anything about cheating.

I used my sumo app's one free bout view a day ability just to see what the excitement was about. Way to go Yasu! No need to stop at Ama. Three times was enough. You had bigger fish to fry. :)

I'm very dissapointed with Kisenosato. His firsts bouts shown us his inconsistency, although his great technic. really , I hope to improve his performance in this basho.

Great victory for Takayasu! I wonder, though, if Hakuho would have stayed up had his left foot not slipped on top of the tawara. For a second I thought he was going to pull out an impossible escape.

Super match between Ichinojo and Kakuryu as well. Good old fashioned belt fight.

Takayasu gives a big spark of interest to the rest of the basho, while joining the small club of people who won a kinboshi against Hakuho, one year and 10 months (or 11 basho) since the last one.

For the record, the 7 other people who have gotten a kinboshi out of Hakuho are Kisenosato (twice), Toyonoshima, Aminishiki, Shotenro (!), Toyohibiki (!!), Tochiozan and Miyogiryu. Interestingly, all are still active :-).

Y parece que todo vuelve a su lugar. Ichinojo ha dado un gran combate y ya perfila como un peligroso adversario. Harumafuj al parecer va encontrando su nivel y Kisenosato, otra vez mostrándonos su peor cara. Si no fuera por el error del contrincante, hubiese sufrido su segunda derrota. Aoiyama sigue sorprendiendo, es otro que ha vuelto a encontrar su nivel. Este basho será muy interesante.

Another Yok doing the slip and slide. Taka really employing tsupari well first against Hara and now Hak. Ichi may not have a great offensive game but that is the type of effort I expect of him against the top guys.
