Jk21w Fubu Ummmm.... why are you reposting what's in the original message? ETA - OK, looks like you were typing when the additions to the original message were made. Gurowake 4,153 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) I had a feeling that such a thing would happen. I'm used to seeing something pop up if there's a new post, but didn't think to check if there was an edit after having typed it. Vikanohara 171 Posted November 8, 2014 Aragyoshi has retired, Arashio-beya announced today. A big loss for the fans. His matches were always fun to watch. Oh man, now Toyonoshima & Ohara and I'll go from 4 to 0. Toyonoshima might even be not that far-fetched in near future. Ohara still has some years left I suppose. But of course there's room for new adoptees then.

Your default might have saved you (unless your default have lost). According to the rules you can't lose or win by fusen. IMPORTANT!! You cannot win OR lose by fusen. If your picked rikishi is involved in a fusen match, the default kicks in automatically.
Akinomaki 41,839 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) No withdrawal, just a status: Ichinojo is reported (in several headlines and most papers) to have caught a cold. http://www.chunichi.co.jp/chuspo/article/sumo/news/CK2014110902000156.html Edited November 9, 2014 by Akinomaki

Akinomaki 41,839 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) That were reports from yesterday and is just a sign of the Ichinojo hype - he said he is 90% also with cold. Edited November 9, 2014 by Akinomaki

Asashosakari 20,272 Posted November 9, 2014 Somehow I struggle to believe they only figured that out between Thursday and Sunday...Answered by Shikoroyama-oyakata, I suppose, who's quoted in Sports Hochi along the lines of "there was an 0.1% chance he might get ready in time, so we waited until the very end". Well, Kitaharima says thanks. From what I can interpret into his further comments, they won't try to join the basho halfway and instead focus on getting Homasho ready for January.
ScreechingOwl 343 Posted November 9, 2014 I believe that Homasho had anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery. For athletes in the US, the standard time for recovery from that surgery (in order to play their sport again) is 6 months.
