Promo- Nagoya (July) Basho 2014+ Days 1-15

I would disagree on Hakuho Sand bout. Hakuho just decided to toy with him for a little while. I even suspect some spectacular throwing was in his mind.

I disagree. I don't think he was playing. I found him very concentrated this bout.

It was sad to read the outcome of that bout before watching it. Please discuss fights in the discussion topic, thank you.

@vikanohana Yes, that's true. Sorry. Sometimes I have to watch the bouts afterwards myself. I understand.

araibira's Youtube lower division uploads are now completely added to the DB.

FYI, I'm uploading bouts I missed last basho.
These are now also on the DB at last, as are Day 1-8 of the current basho.

day 7:

NHK news7 (bil. mix) sports corner: top: Suna - later Kise, Kak

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgz2v_wBQj4

day 8:

at 2:30 in the NHK news7 (bil. mix) sports corner: Hak-Suna

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4VUBuT7RL0

nothing worth mentioning this time from that Fukushima Ai, neither from Sunday nor from Saturday sports, though both were interesting (better watch them on Niji). Just a short bit of Oguruma-oyakata on kinboshi

day 9:

NHK news9 (bil. mix) sports corner: top: (gyoji down), Kak-Gik, Tkaze-HF

Major internet problems on day 9. I'll upload all the missed bouts after day 15.

Regarding Kimura Tamamitsu, he's clearly been struggling with his footwork since he suffered a stroke a couple of years ago, added to the fact that he's 64 years old. During the Shonosuke interregnum last year, I don't recall seeing him participate in any Yokozuna dohyo-iri, it was always Shikimori Kindayu (now Inosuke) who filled in. I think Tamamitsu simply can't hold the sonkyo position for that length of time any more. I worry about his safety on the dohyo, but he's doing the best he can and obviously still loves doing the job.

I worry about him too. Footwork is so critical to safety in this job and a fall could hurt him badly in his general state of health. But you're right. There's obviously nowhere in the world he'd rather be.
