Kensho for Natsu 2014

Recommended Posts

Day 15

3. Kisenosato 128

4. Kakuryu 104

That means Kisenosato and Kakuryu are trading places on the next banzuke, right?

As long as that means Endo gets to outrank the 2 Sekiwake, sure.

I'm quoting the relevant section for this topic from a Wall Street Journal blog entry:

"At the latest 15-day tournament, which finished Sunday, the number of cash prizes paid by companies to bout winners reached 1,165, with a total value of ¥72 million ($706,000). That compared with 1,166 in the previous tournament, keeping cash prizes above the 1,100 level for a third straight tournament for the first time since 1960."

The articel was originally linked by Kintamayama here: http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=14169&p=260517 Thanks for that.

Writing this I now see that Akinomaki allready gave the total figures and even broken down to the individual rikishi. Well, I leave it as is...

More info derived from the Nikkan Money banzuke data and more differences: Hakuho one less, Kakuryu one more (2 more than Sponichi), juryo Kagamio had 1 (against Arawashi) and Azumaryu had 1 (against Masunoyama).
