Mark.Buckton 68 Posted April 17, 2014 should see more than a few Hosei students too supporting their bestie - Harumafuji. Awareness of the yokozuna joining their ranks definitely up today. Few even knew about the 29th. An orange Kokugikan?
Kintamayama 44,275 Posted April 29, 2014 Soken held today. 8000 (!!!) spectators (3000 last year...) Kakuryuu 6-1 against Kisenosato, and 3-4 against Harumafuji. Hakuhou 10-0 against Yoshikaze, Endou and others but did not face any O/Y. Kisenosato was not doing good against Kakuryuu and Harumafuji, and was criticized by YDC Chairman Uchiyama. "He is lacking in spirit at this time," he said. Kotoshougiku was there but did not fight. New Ozeki wannabe Goueidou showed some good sumo. Komusubi Chiyoootori was not there because he was "otherwise engaged." Newcomer Mongolian giant Ichinojo was 10-2 against his Juryo elders. He then had butsugari keiok with Makuuchi Tamawashi for 6 minutes straight. "I am grateful to be able to train with my elders. This basho I'd like to do my own sumo- migi-yotsu and moving forward.." he said. .
