Zenjimoto 40 Posted June 11, 2004 And GISP has it's three Ozeki back! Both demotees from Haru Basho, Gaijingai and Obana, managed to get the minimum 10 wins required to gain re-promotion to the Champion rank, and they rejoin Leonishiki at that level. Maguroyama, who had a chance of Ozeki promotion meanwhile, did not get the necessary wins this time, but remains under consideration for Nagoya. "Kosho" players were dropped a full rank in Makuuchi this time, and even then caused a bit of awkwardness in the upper ranks. The number of Sanyaku is high at the moment with 13. Not a single playing Sanyaku made MK this time - hopefully it will swing the other way again next time. Lower Juryo again had some vacuums, resulting in some very lenient demotions and promotions to fill the gaps. Zenjimoto 40 Posted June 12, 2004 As Mariohana correctly pointed out to me, he actually DID play Natsu 2004 GISP, and that very well, too... for some reason I had him as "Kosho". Oh well... I'll blame the Calcutta Monsoon heat, and deny any personal responsibility! :) Here, however, is the revised, and hopefully final and "correct" (if there is such a thing!) GISP banzuke! Zenjimoto 40 Posted June 12, 2004 From J8 to J4 with 11-4? Bloody murder ... :-P I agree! Juryo was really annoying this time... complete clusterf...udge in the top half, and gaping vacuum in the bottom... the joys of a non-divisional game, I guess... Cheers Zenjimoto
Zeokage 0 Posted June 18, 2004 Ok, now I've got to remember to actually enter the games this time around.
Zenjimoto 40 Posted June 18, 2004 Hm, yes, that would help... I was wondering what happened to you this time (Applauding...) In GISP at least, there was not much to lose, you even gained a rank (Clapping wildly...) For future reference, though, if you happen to miss a basho or deadline, be sure to request KOSHO from me in the Sekitori-* games you may be playing, and from the other game rijicho as well, so you can keep your rank, and not get an "unexcused" 0-0-15 record... Cheers from Singapore Airport (free internet terminals here, I LOVE this place!!) Zenjimoto
Zeokage 0 Posted June 21, 2004 (edited) I ended up missing almost the whole first week last time... I should have checked, but I thought that you had to request kosho before the first day (that's honshuraku, right?) Great start for me in games this time around... bottom of the GTB. Gotta work out how they do it. Edited June 21, 2004 by Zeokage
