Itachi 396 Posted March 4, 2014 Hi Everyone,Until further notice, the game will run just as it has the last few times. I will compile the results and post them as best as I can on this thread. This is a pre-basho game where each player selects a rikishi from each of 8 sections of the banzuke. The player earns points for each win, each kachikoshi, and each yusho earned by their team of 8 rikishi. The sections of the banzuke are these:Sanyaku (Y through K)MaegashiraJuryoUpper Makushita (Ms1-15 )Lower Makushita (Ms16-60 plus tsukedashi if any)SandanmeJonidanJonokuchiThat's it! Simple to understand, difficult to master. The hallmarks of any engaging game. Please send your 8 selections to me before the beginning of action on Shonichi.Itachi: nmatsuo@shaw.ca or by pm here at the forumAs a reminder, I am only a temporary caretaker of this game until Oshirokita can address the reconstruction of his system. All banzuke, website, and records updates will be on hold until then but the game itself and results postings will continue here on this thread.Good luck with your picks.Don't forget to check the kyujo list and email any replacements that may become necessary!Itachi

Itachi 396 Posted March 9, 2014 The tables are posted for Day 1. There weren't any unanimous picks. The closest was Hakuho - chosen by everyone except HigoViki.
Itachi 396 Posted March 12, 2014 The tables are updated for Day 4. Interesting to note that the creators are leading in both games today (this one and the Sandanme one). Catch us if you can!

Itachi 396 Posted March 20, 2014 The tables are updated for Day 12. Vikanohara has a 2 point lead over Flohru and all their potential yusho winning rikishi are the same. In fact, the only difference in their teams is that Vikanohara has Ichinojo where Flohru selected Tosayutaka in upper Makushita. In that case, if anyone can catch Vikanohara, it will be someone behind Flohru. Looking behind Flohru, I see no one with enough distinct selections who is close enough to reach the leader. It looks very much like the yusho here has been decided.

Itachi 396 Posted March 22, 2014 The tables are updated for Day 14. Despite having only a single point lead over Flohru, Vikanohara will win the yusho for reasons mentioned in an earlier post.
Itachi 396 Posted March 23, 2014 The final standings are posted. As predicted, Vikanohara has won the yusho. Congratulations to him! Thanks everyone for playing!
Flohru 178 Posted March 25, 2014 Congrats Vikanohara on a well-deserved yusho! I'm quite happy to settle with the jun-yusho this time and promise to be back in full action next basho in the Sandamne Game as well. Thanks Itachi as always for keeping PTYW alive (though I kind of regret that the banzuke is dead as I think I would have been promoted to yokozuna now following the Hatsu-yusho...)! Vikanohara 171 Posted May 14, 2014 We might both have been Yokozuna, I suppose. :-)
