So, how will the top of the banzuke look in about a year from now?

Please leave your actual prediction for the top two ranks for the January 2014 in the comments below - then we can see who is closest at the end of the year, to award a yusho for this poll :-)

No new yokozuna. Goeido will join Kisenosato and Kakuryu as an Ozeki. Kotooshu will retire, and Kotoshogiku will spend most of 2014 on the verge of getting repromoted to Ozeki.

3 Yoks (Haku, Haru, Kise)

3 Ozeki (Kaku, Giku, Goei)

Y&O ranks will be half mongolian / half japanese

Osh won't make it back to Ozeki and call it a career

Kisenosato to join the Yokozuna crowd, making it three strong.

Kakuryu will be Ozeki, and Kotoshogiku will save his rank to hang in there, so two Ozeki.

Kotooshu will retire and I have no confidence in Goeido making it to Ozeki.

3Y : Hakuho, Harumafuji & Kisenosato

4O : Kakuryu, Kotoshogiku, Goeido & Myogiryu

I would have put Endo in the poll as well. He will be Sekiwake by Hatsu 2015.

There will be three Yokozunas on the January 2015 banzuke.

This was correctly guessed by Jejima, Azumashida, Oshirokita, kuroimori, Senkoho, Terao, I am the Yokozuna, chishafuwaku, krindel, Morty, Vikanohara, Mmikasazuma.

There will be three Ozekis on the next banzuke.

Correct guesses by Asojima, Azumashida, p2501, Kintamayama, kuroimori, Senkoho, Terao,

Mordyefuji, Morty, Leonishiki, Mmikasazuma

Most of us incorrectly guessed that Kakuryu would still be Ozeki.

Not one of us correctly predicted all three of the Ozekis to be on the Jan 2015 basho!

The closest were Asojima, Kintamayama, Mordyefuji, Kaioshoryu, Leonishiki, Jejima, Azumashida, p2501, kuroimori, Terao, Vikanohara, Mmikasazuma with two - which is nearly everyone.

Looking at the comments, I think Tsubame and kuroimori both came closest to guessing the actual make-up, with Kakuryu and Kisenosato switched.

Tsubame does not seem to have voted on the poll, so I award the yusho to kuroimori. (Yusho winner...)
