Here is the Hakuho poll for 2014.

Please put your prediction in the comments below (exact numbers preferred), so we can see who was closest at the end of the year. Please also remember to add your guess at the 'Doitsuyama Bonus Question' - namely the most wins-in-a-row that Hakuho will be able to string together during 2013. He ended 2013 with a loss, so his first potential winning streak starts with possible win number 1 on day 1 of the January Basho.

3 yusho (honorific stop 1 yusho shy of Chiyonofuji, postponing the breaking-of-japanese-records problem to 2015)

1 zensho (after Kisenosato's first ever yusho)

79 wins total

29 win streak

Hi all,

Hakuho scooped an impressive 5 yushos this year - which no one guessed correctly. The closest with 4 were Senkoho, Kaioshoryu, Leonishiki and Ayagawa who all predicted 4 yushos.

None of those 5 yushos were zensho! The players who got this correct were Oshirokita, Kintamayama, Kotononami, Terao, I am the Yokozuna and chishafuwaku.

Averaging 13.5 wins per basho, Hakuho ended up with 81 wins for the year.

The players guessing the right bracket were Leonishiki, Ayagawa and Mmikasazuma. (Special mention to Yubinhaad, who mentioned 82 wins in his comments, but did not seem to vote for it.)

The longest string of wins was only 14 (achieved on 3 occasions). Correct guessers were Tsubame and Oshirokita. One off (with 15) was chishafuwaku.

Who gets the yusho?

Only Oshirokita got two correct, so he wins! (Yusho winner...)
