Isegahama beya had a little play time with kindergarteners in Dazaifu, Fukuoka after asageiko. While traveling from Tokyo on the 26th, Harumafuji was in a car accident in Fukuoka, but he is ok. A side collision occurred while the yokozuna was in the backseat of the vehicle. No injuries were reported, but Harumafuji says that he was pretty shaken up affecting his training the day after. During morning keiko he summed 12 wins, 9 losses between Homarefuji and Takarafuji.

The new song from KUNI, his 3rd single "Negai kanau nara" (if a wish comes true) is dedicated to Harumafuji's memory of his late father. The CD jacket shows a painting from Harumafuji.
The two met about 10 years ago. Harumafuji at once liked the character and then the voice of the ex-doorman of a hotel and had , half jokingly, expressed the wish to appear in a music video.
His father died in a traffic accident on 2006. Harumafuji had rushed back to Mongolia on the news of the accident but came to late to meet his father alive. The next day the basho was to start - he wanted to quit sumo and attend the funeral but his mother persuaded him not to: "You must continue with sumo, also for your father."
