I haven't seen Harumafuji look this good in what seems like ages, great news for his fans, but also Hak looks very solid to me, i don't know... who will take it?! It's a puzzler, i want Hak but well, Haru is looking beastly.

The injury to Kotoyuki seemed to be very similar to the one that put YMY on the shelf, basically falling on himself. That kind of knee injury can take some time to heal. Similar thing happed to a teammate of mine during a football game, and it was bad enough to finish him off for the year...

Some good bouts this basho, mixed in with too many slips-n-falls. Some very nice throws, too.

Kagamio wins the lemming award for charging head first Gagamaru.

I was going to complement Homasho on his nice resistance vs Hakuho on the ropes, but I suspect that Hakuho was simply being gentle to the most earnestly bowing person in sumo.

The fewer legs Tokitenku uses, the more stable his sumo seems to be. That sort of compliments his eccentric style. I'd also like to mention that Fujiazuma does very well this basho (so far), resorting to a solid, no-thrills but also quite effective style of sumo. If both Hakuho and Harumafuji stay in shape and unbeaten until day 15 we'll be in for a treat.
