West Makushita 45 CHIYOARASHI -> Will be an even longer fight back to Juryo this time.

West Makushita 56 HAMAGUCHI -> No MK until his injury. Will he be able to do it all over again ?

West Sandanme 21 SOTENRYU -> Again ? How much can you take ? Probably back to Jk.

East Sandanme 44 KINUNONAMI -> Almost made it back to Makushita, but alas.

East Jonidan 30 RYUDEN -> Still no real return. :-(

Or perhaps Sotenryu is targeting a new Jk record ? (Sigh...) He's 24-2 at the moment, with 1 Yusho.

Yoshikaze seems to be back after a fractured hamate bone in the right wrist the 24th of September.

Not too soon?

Some medical sites says 6-8 weeks of immobilisation in a splint.

Someone has seen him training these days?

Looks like either Jd24e Takei or Jd25e Azumayama (both Tamanoi-beya) has been kyujo-forgotten by the Kyokai. Good to know some traditions haven't ended with the site redesign...

Chiyoarashi had surgery for his knee? He's kyujo for four months now.

I guess this is baseball boy's goodbye...

Had knee surgery, from what I've read, so probably not intai (yet).

Last basho's 0-7 debutant Mochizuki is apparently a goner though.

Takei won over J25w Tatsukaze on day 2. Azumayama wasn't on the schedule for day 1 or 2.

Just to clear up a little confusion, Azumanami is the apparently absent Jd25e.

Azumayama (Jk14w) is in the basho and, appropriately given the thread, had a fusen win over Katayama today.

Bah, I should just refer to rikishi by rank only to avoid such mishaps. ;-) Thanks for the correction.

Agreed, and I've been checking by rank as well. (Reading book...)

The Kyokai has admitted that Jd25e AZUMANAMI exists, and has been absent from day 1 :-)
