Akinomaki 39,509 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 - Part 8 I have put my old sumo video presentation with several of my favorite sumo moments from Japanese TV on Youtube.I created it for the Japan-German society Dortmund (DJG-DO) in 3 weeks in April/May 2000, presented on the 6.5.2000.Unfortunately for this forum my talk on the video is in German, with the original Japanese sound mostly in the background and when I need it extra loud. I am thinking about adding English subtitles, but since I don't know yet how to do this, it may take quite some time (any help is welcome). The presentation is 111 min. long, for YouTube split into 8 parts. It is an introduction to sumo also/especially for the interested not-yet fan, focusing on conveying the fun in watching sumo and being a fan - sumo seen with the eyes of an avid fan.I did it at home using several video recorders and my handycam. It consists mainly of images from NHK basho coverage and from some programs of several Japanese TV channels, all from my video collection, arranged to illustrate my explanations. The interested fan may find some interesting scenes from the past (mainly mid to end 90's), also without understanding the talk: it is also a collection of some of my favorite bouts from the period, in which sumo popularity was still at a peak - and a presentation of my favorite rikishi.I list here all known info for the shown bouts. Who knows more, please add the missing parts and tell me about errors.I'd appreciate it if someone posts this on a German forum, I don't follow those yet.For the time, it is unlisted on YouTube, so you can only access it by using the direct links I provide here.As the source videos have been copied several times and converted from NTSC to PAL, the image quality is not very good - and I'm not a professional speaker either. But maybe it is just the right thing for the inter-Basho lull. Edited June 7, 2013 by Akinomaki

Akinomaki 39,509 Posted June 6, 2013 Re: Subtitles. For example. Immense work to do that, though. Thanks for the link and the assessment, I'll try and check how much time it might cost, just for some short descriptions of my points. For the moment and especially for the forum I will rather add more information about the bouts and other scenes on the video. Keep checking the posts for each part for new edits.
