The sanyaku rikishi had another clean sweep today (only losing against higher ranked sanyaku), making it 17-1 now for the two yokozuna and four ozeki. Kakuryu arguably had the toughest schedule among them, beating Baruto today convincingly. Aoiyama is usually starting well into the basho if not in the meatgrinder, and he's again at 3-0. Masunoyama has three make-koshi after starting his makuuchi career with a kanto-sho and another kachi-koshi, and he is now back to the start at M13w - and again starting 3-0. Takekaze, Tokitenku and Shotenro somewhat surprisingly round up the group of ten undefeated rikishi.

Only five rikishi are still undefeated in juryo, and the biggest surprise is Homasho's loss to juryo returnee Chiyoarashi. Czech Takanoyama won with his trademark tottari against the obliging sparring partner Oniarashi, and with Wakakoyu and Tamaasuka two more former makuuchi are at 3-0. Kimurayama is quickly following Miyabiyama's path, not looking like a sekitori at all at this stage, and unlikely to get the six wins he needs to stay in juryo.
