Doitsuyama 1,150 Posted May 13, 2013 Harumafuji other win streak also is over after 32 consecutive wins, losing his first bout in Tokyo since day 14 last May. He is also giving away a kinboshi as Myogiryu scored his second career kinboshi after beating Hakuho two basho ago.Hakuho looked strong against Aminishiki and must be considered the yusho favorite in his pursuit to equal Asashoryu's career yusho number at 25. The four ozeki all won again, but Kakuryu was somewhat lucky to stay in the bout long enough against Tochiozan who was the stronger rikishi. Baruto and Aoiyama also are 2-0, impressing with raw power so far. The four shin-makuuchi are going in different directions with Azumaryu and Chiyootori at 2-0, but Daikiho and Homarefuji without a win. Seven juryo rikishi are leading at 2-0 with Czech Takanoyama having another nice win in a long bout against shin-juryo Kizenryu. Homasho's sumo seems suited perfectly for low juryo as he is clearly stronger than his opponents while also being excellent defensively, taking away a lot of room for surprising losses, so I am expecting him to win the juryo yusho. krindel 671 Posted May 13, 2013 I agree with you about a healthy Homasho being head and shoulders above most Juryo competition, so it remains to be seen if his injured shoulder has healed enough to bear the stress of the full 15 days...
aderechelsea 107 Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) Homasho is indeed the favourite for the Juryo yusho but be warned that he is losing tomorrow. ;-) by the way ... Kaisei is still not out of his slump ... once again 2 easy losses for him without any power being portrayed in the process. edit: well .... he actually did lose today so i sense a massacre in Chain Gang Game.
