Doitsuyama 1,150 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) Hakuho won against Harumafuji to deny his fellow yokozuna a double digit record and finally win his ninth zensho yusho, missing out on day 15 against Baruto and Harumafuji since his last zensho in Aki 2010. He is breaking a tie with Futabayama and Taiho to become the sole leader in number of zensho yusho won. Okinoumi managed to beat Myogiryu to stay in second place along with Takarafuji at 11-4 and he won the kanto-sho, the only sansho awarded this basho. Goeido and Tochiozan also won to finish good a basho for both with 10-5, possibly stating an ozeki run. Homarefuji unsurprisingly beat his Kinki university senpai to clinch the makuuchi promotion, with Daikiho doing the same against veteran Asasekiryu. Chiyootori sealed his own makuuchi debut with another win while long-sure promotee Kyokushuho also won the yusho with two wins over Azumaryu, surviving a mono-ii in the first bout. Going by the numbers, Azumaryu should also get promoted in an exchange with Tamawashi, but this one is less clear.
