My Day 7 Highlights, part I (lower divisions) :

Sd1 : Oazuma 3-0 vs Daikamikaze 3-0, previous meeting won by Maeshinpu, now known as Daikamikaze

Sd2 : Ohara 1-2 vs Tokinowaka 1-2, they already met in Kyushu'11, won by Ohara

Sd3 : Hitachijo 1-2 vs Satonofuji 1-2, as already pointed out by Yubinhaad, amazingly done by this small man !

Sd4 : Daishodo 3-0 vs Tosayutaka 3-0, still shouldn't be a real test for Tosa, this typical Sandanme rikishi.

Jd1 : Hakunoryu 3-0 vs Tamao 3-0, still unbeaten since his return, but for how long ?

Jd2 : Tsubomi 2-1 vs Sato 2-1, again no yusho for Sato, but perhaps another 6-1 ?

Jd3 : Tokutaiho 3-0 vs Kawashita 3-0, °88 but only 2 years experience vs °92 and already 5 years in ozumo

Jk : Hamagami 1-2 vs Tanahashi 0-0, first appearance since he dropped out of Sd in Nagoya'12 & not ready to fight ?

My Day 7 Highlights, part II (upper divisions) :

Y : Harumafuji 4-2 vs Ikioi 2-4, first encounter & wasn't this rather a no-show ?

O1 : Kakuryu 4-2 vs Toyonoshima 4-2, 11-7 head-to-head, first 3 in 2007 still all won by Toyonoshima

O2 : Kisenosato 3-3 vs Shohozan 5-1, can Shohozan repeat what he did in Kyushu'12 ?

S1 : Goeido 4-2 vs Tochiozan 3-3, 7-7 head-to-head, but last 3 won by T-zan and 6/7 last real bouts

S2 : Takayasu 2-4 vs Baruto 5-1, can Takayasu win again, just like last basho (though Bart beat himself) ?

M : Okinoumi 4-2 vs Shotenro 5-1, 3-3 head-to-head

J1 : Satoyama 3-3 vs Chiyootori 4-2, difficult to tell & this winner made a nasty fall on the knee

J2 : Tokushoryu 2-4 vs Kagamio 3-3, both close to their career high & was here a replay needed ?

J3 : Sensho 2-4 vs Tanzo 2-4, 0-2 head-to-head, both from 2010 when Tanzo's shikona still was Terashita

Ms1 : Endo 2-1 vs Sakigake 2-1, welcome to the big boys, Endo

Ms2 : Wakanoshima 1-2 vs Kasugakuni 1-2, for historical reason : both former Ms1, 3-3 H2H, first met in 2000 !

Ms3 : Osunaarashi 2-1 vs Tatsu 2-1, a pleasure to watch & what goes around, comes around

Ms4 : Aozora 1-2 vs Kotokobai 1-2, Aozora clearly too good for Sandanme, but less success in Makushita

Ms5 : Asatenmai 2-1 vs Mankajo 2-1, 0-3 head-to-head, but all between 2006 & 2009

Ms6 : Suzaku 2-1 vs Dewaotori 2-1, former top Makushita (last year) vs top Juryo (long ago), interesting

My Day 10 Highlights :

Y : Baruto 6-3 vs Hakuho 9-0, 3-24 head-to-head, so virtually no chance for the Estonian ?

O1 : Kakuryu 5-4 vs Tochiozan 4-5, 13-12 head-to-head, but last two won by T-zan

O2 : Toyonoshima 6-3 vs Kotoshogiku 7-2, 9-25 head-to-head

M1 : Takayasu 4-5 vs Tokitenku 2-7, surprisingly 1-2 head-to-head, though all still from 2011

M2 : Wakanosato 6-3 vs Sotairyu 3-6, after victories on days 8 & 9, can Sotairyu make it three in a row ?

J1 : Tanzo 4-5 vs Takanoiwa 3-6, in 2011 & 2012 Takanoiwa could already beat Tanzo, then still Terashita

J2 : Oniarashi 4-5 vs Tenkaiho 6-3, close to an ipponzeoi ?

J3 : Satoyama 5-4 vs Akiseyama 5-4, 4-2 head-to-head, I'm usually not so fond of long fights, but this one I like

Ms1 : Hamaguchi 3-1 vs Chiyoo 3-1, who to be certain of a new career high after this ?

My Day 11 Highlights (a bit late as this morning sumodb was down) :

Y : Kotoshogiku 7-3 vs Hakuho 10-0 & Harumafuji 7-3 vs Goeido 7-3, as both were equally interesting to watch

O : Kakuryu 5-5 vs Tokitenku 3-7, not a strong basho from Kakuryu, will it get worse ?

S : Tochinoshin 4-6 vs Baruto 6-4, 1-10 head-to-head

K : Tochiozan 5-5 vs Takayasu 4-6, slayer of 4 Ozeki vs slayer of one Yokozuna & both Sekiwake

M1 : Okinoumi 8-2 vs Chiyonokuni 5-5, will Okinoumi stay within two victories of Hakuho ?

M2 : Masunoyama 4-6 vs Jokoryu 6-4, both desparate to win, after a couple of losing days in a row

M3 : Oiwato 5-5 vs Sadanofuji 5-5, 4-5 head-to-head, both could use a victory to stay in Makuuchi

J1 : Kyokushuho 8-2 vs Daikiho 7-3, both J2 rikishi looking good for promotion

J2 : Azumaryu 9-1 vs Tochihiryu 6-4, surprisingly 1-3 head-to-head

J3 : Nionoumi 7-3 vs Tokushinho 4-6, KK or no KK already, that's the question

Ms1 : Chiyoarashi 4-1 vs Hamaguchi 4-1, 5-2 might be enough for repromotion at Ms4e, but can he beat the rising star ?

Ms2 : Kamei 5-0 vs Terutsuyoshi 5-0, I reckon 6-1 could do for Kamei, so this to become a sekitori ? ; mind the 10y gap !

Ms3 : Higoarashi 5-0 vs Takakiho 5-0, both no 7-0 record yet, and as for 6-1 : 3x vs 4x

Ms4 : Iwasaki 2-3 vs Irie 2-3, Iwasaki all of a sudden surprisingly hitting the wall ?

Ms5 : Sasakiyama 2-3 vs Kotofukuju 2-3, difficult to decide upon who has won

Ms6 : Meisei 2-3 vs Hokudozan 2-3, 2nd MK for Meisei and first after 6 KK in a row ?

Sd1 : Daikamikaze 5-0 vs Goshi 5-0, only once 6-1 for former Maeshinpu, while Goshi is on a 37-17 career record

Sd2 : Amuru 3-2 vs Kotodaigo 3-2, who would have thought Amuru to struggle in Sandanme ?

Sd3 : Masutoo 5-0 vs Wakarikido 5-0, former Ms22 vs Ms34, the latter fallen back after 5 MK in a row

Sd4 : Higonoryu Jd 5-0 vs Tosayutaka 5-0, no problem for Tosa I suppose, even though he's up against a real heavyweight

Jd1 : Kinunonami 5-0 vs Tamao 5-0, Tamao on a winning-streak of 12, but Kinunonami is also making a return

Jd2 : Daitenyu 3-2 vs Sato 3-2, last basho's runner-up in Jonokuchi

Jd3 : Tokutaiho 5-0 vs Ako 5-0, Ako has never had a 6-1 record so far (only once 5-2), and yet he won their only encounter

Jk : Baraki 4-1 vs Komatsu Jd 4-1, in mae-zumo Baraki lost to both Ishiura & Majima

While Watanabe has finally stopped his gruesome losing streak (so it ended at 20 in a row), though there's no video available.

Hakiai also managed to turn things around after 6 MK in a row got him dropped from top Ms2e into Sandanme.

Meanwhile, former Maegashira Towanoyama is close to his intai I suppose.

And what happened to Aisaka ? He rushed to Makushita with only 4 defeats, but is now facing demotion to Sd once again.

O : Kakuryu 6-5 vs Ikioi 2-9, first ever encounter

S : Myogiryu 5-6 vs Baruto 7-4, not an amazing basho by Myogiryu so far, even though he has beaten 3 Ozeki (one fusen)

K : Tochiozan 6-5 vs Shohozan 6-5, 2-3 head-to-head, but it should be T-zan's turn now.

M2 : Fujiazuma 8-3 vs Wakanosato 7-4, Waka fighting to stay in Makuuchi

M4 : Chiyootori [J]7-4 vs Sotairyu 3-8, 3-0 head-to-head, all from last year

J1 : Azumaryu 10-1 vs Daikiho 7-4, Azumaryu reaching out to the Juryo Yusho ?

J2 : Kyokushuho 9-2 vs Asasekiryu 9-2, Asasekiryu won both their encounters in 2012

J4 : Chiyoarashi [Ms]5-1 vs Sensho 4-7, promotion/demotion fight

Ms1 : Endo 3-2 vs Shosei 3-2, should have gone better for Endo, but at least a KK, or not yet ?

Ms2 : Takatoshi 3-2 vs Saishin 3-2, after a mono-ii

Ms3 : Nogami 3-2 vs Mankajo 3-2, what a weird bout this was

Ms4 : Chiyoshoma 3-2 vs Dewaotori 3-2, will the latter ever see Juryo again ?

Ms5 : Kansei 4-1 vs Kaidonami 4-1, both on a career high and even on their way to a new one

Sd1 : Aoimaru 4-1 vs Miura 4-1, apart from that 0-1-6 in Aki, Aoimaru has scored 5-2 everytime since Nagoya'12.

Sd2 : Fukushima [Jd]4-1 vs Takatenshu 4-1, apart from having gone kyujo in Sandanme, Fukushima didn't have a MK yet

Jd : Kosensho 4-1 vs Hakunoryu 4-1, in Kyushu'11 Hakunoryu could already beat Kosensho in Sandanme

Jk : no footage, but Ishiura managed another victory, against Takasaito, who was 5-0 in Jonidan

And Hishofuji is promoting back to Makushita I suppose.

I've queued up the missing video sections for the Days 8 to 12...going to be uploading for a while (~4 hours from now, I'd guess), and afterwards I'd appreciate some assistance in tagging the bouts for the DB. I'll post again when the files are ready.

Okay, the videos are online and linked through the first bout in the DB...if you can spare a few minutes, feel free to watch the jonokuchi/jonidan clips for days 8, 9, 10 and 12 and please tag the bouts while you're at it. :-)

HF closer to kyujo.

I won`t be posting much the next 3 weeks while in Chiba. Unfortunately I don`t have the video icons on Sumoreference on this Japanese computer with IExplorer. Araibira`s playlists work as usual and the forum as well, but I don`t know what settings in this new environment I have to change to use the database with videos, which I usually do a lot for past days.

My Day 14 Highlights :

Y1 : Kakuryu 8-5 vs Hakuho 13-0, the Yokozuna on his way to another zensho Yusho ?

Y2 : Harumafuji 9-4 vs Kisenosato 8-5, 27-15 head-to-head, so the Yokozuna will at least finish 10-5, right ?

O : Shohozan 7-6 vs Kotoshogiku 7-6, Giku surely avoiding the kadoban status, no ?

S : Aminishiki 5-8 vs Baruto 8-5, the knights who say knee

K : Tochiozan 8-5 vs Kitataiki 9-4, great basho by Kitataiki, but with 8-2 head-to-head, can he dream of 10 wins ?

M1 : Ikioi 2-11 vs Tochinoshin 6-7, Ikioi took off well, but since day 6 it's mostly about gaining experience

M2 : Tokitenku 4-9 vs Tamawashi 4-9, 9-1 head-to-head

M3 : Toyonoshima 7-6 vs Takekaze 7-6, how is it possible that they are 5-14 had-to-head ?

M4 : Aran 8-5 vs Sadanofuji 7-6, most important for Sadanofuji, as he's M13w

M5 : Jokoryu 8-5 vs Yoshikaze 8-5, a lot of nice action involving Jokoryu this basho

M6 : Chiyonokuni 6-7 vs Daikiho [J]8-5, explosive demotion/promotion battle

J1 : Kyokushuho 11-2 vs Satoyama 7-6, plain awesomeness !

J2 : Tokushoryu 6-7 vs Takanoyama 5-8, their last two encounters : Kyushu'11 & Kyushu'12

J3 : Nionoumi 8-5 vs Oniarashi 6-7, 4-1 head-to-head, but last basho won by Oniarashi

J4 : Akiseyama 7-6 vs Kagamio 6-7, both J12 could be 7-7 if Kagamio continues his reign (0-3 H2H) over Akiseyama

Ms1 : Higonojo 3-3 vs Kotomisen 3-3, °84 vs °83, but 5 vs 14 years experience

Ms2 : Takageppo 3-3 vs Tatsu 3-3, over 20 cm difference

Ms3 : Dairaido 3-3 vs Kotofukuju 3-3, will it be the 7th 3-4 in 8 basho for former J2 (2006) Dairaido ?

Ms4 : Meisei 2-4 vs Ikinoshima 2-4, sadly a MK for Meisei, after 6 KK in a row

Sd : Aratoshi 3-3 vs Sotenryu 3-3, two comeback kids, 81-56-22 vs 75-38-60 records

Jd : Nakashima 3-3 vs Sato 3-3, what a weird finish

Jk : no footage
