goyji written sumo characters (sumo-ji) - Sagatsukasa-Chiyonokuni

Kyokutenho-Toyonoshima - gyoji write the banzuke, torikumi sheets etc.

Baruto-Goeido - gyoji learn the sumo-ji when they enter, 1st year easy ones starting with mountain 山yama/san,zan and river 川kawa,gawa, 2nd year sea 海umi/kai、brocade 錦nishiki、dragon 龍ryu/tatsu, characters that are often used in shikona.

Kakuryu-Kisenosato - 3rd-5th year they write real shikona on top of this type of colour copied sheets. The different colours are to make it easier to distinguish in the banzuke.

Harumafuji-Hakuho - after getting used to writing shikona, they write the wooden banzuke or the match-ups.

Becoming able to write sumo-ji with a brush takes long training time.

These training sheets are written by Kimura Motoki.

one of the awards for the yusho winner is the Japan-France friendship cup, with as extra prize an assortment of macaron French pastry. On the dohyo the "Big Macaron" will be displayed .

Hight 23cm, diameter 41 cm: Left is for the January and July basho, the middle one for March and September, the right for May and November

On Feb. the 11th a farewell gathering for Taiho will be held in the kokugikan entrance hall, 12-14:00

The Kimura Shonosuke exhibit in the sumo museum will be only till Feb. 7th

Thanks - not bad as a collection to have it all together, but during the basho daily posts are a better solution, both for posting and for reading.

The second half of the basho the daily lists were shorter - I don't know if during the basho a merge with the daily pics by Asojima is preferable or the separate posts - and if after the basho a merged thread should be created every time.

Beh, I can't write below your quote after I trimmed it. One more for the Update thread... Anyway - whether you post separate threads or add to Asojima's, it's always possible to merge it all into one thread after the basho. Splicing posts from one thread is a bit more work then merging a whole thread, though.
