The top rankers get steadier with the basho progress as today all rikishi from sekiwake and up won, with Myogiryu winning the bout for the first win against Takayasu. Two undefeated maegashira met today with Toyonoshima beating Ikioi, Wakanosato also had the first loss, but Aoiyama and recovered Chiyotairyu are still among the leaders.

Tochinowaka is still undefeated in juryo, apparently magically recovered from his mysterious ailment. Tamaasuka also is 4-0 and looks like he wants another try in makuuchi next basho, not such a good plan as he is 24-64 in the top division since his sole kachi-koshi in his makuuchi debut more than seven years ago. Takamisakari lost to shin-sekitori Ryuden without much resistance and it looks like the five bout win streak in the mid of last basho was his last gasp to avoid the unevitable.
