Kyujo update

Recommended Posts

Yokozuna Musashimaru has not recovered in time from his cartilage surgery after Kyushu 2001 on the left wrist and Musashigawa oyakata announced his kyujo starting tomorrow. Kaiho will get a fusenhai win (and move 3-2 lifetime against the Yokozuna...).

Also, Takanowaka seems to be out, too, broken rib(s). Both were in my Bench-team...

You too ? Both of them ?

My poor bench team at the moment ...

It seems my whole bench will be kyujo before the end !!!

I'm not very helped by my Kotonowaka's choice too ! (Devilish thought)

I have Kotonowaka, Daizen & Asanowaka whose combined total after four days is 0-12. What was I thinking... (Going nuts...)

Well, today Kotonowaka & Daizen have a mutual bout so one of them is bound to get a win unless some freak itami-wake takes place! (What is that?)

:-/

I'm actualy surprised by the quality of my team's performance. It seems I'm slowly learning how to predict what rikishi will have a good basho... (but not what rikishi will go kyujo, obviously).

OK, now I totaly jinxed myself, high-time it was...  (Hmmm...)

BTW, anybody knows when exactly T'waka injured himself? I couldn't see anything in his bout with 'Nami... maybe it was a jungyo injury getting worse?

From what I saw of the bout, it seemed to happen right at the end when Takanonami was forcing him out over the bales.

Takanowaka seemed to grimace. He then doubled over after stepping out, favoring his right side. I'm not sure exactly how the injury occured though. It seems almost ridiculous to say this, but could it be possible that nami squeezed him hard enough to cause it?

This would truly earn Nami his 'Evil' nickname... in Kyushu he broke Haya's shoulder-bone, now Takanowaka's rib... equaling Kaio's bone-breaking record in makuuchi!

Strangely, did you notice every 5 makuuchi wrestlers who were 5-0 down all won today ?

Asanowaka, Kotonowaka, Kyokutenho, Akinoshima, Tamanoshima. Sometimes, I believe in the end of series, and five is a perfect number. Perhaps I'm only superstitious but it's a fact. If only I could know what will happen thanks to numbers, that could help me in the various Sumo games ! (Alien stuff)

When did Nami break Hayateumi's shoulder bone?

I know that in Kyushu Hayateumi suffered a severly dislocated knee against Nami. When he fell at the end of the bout, he was clearly favoring that knee. It was even reported on the SML that Hayateumi was kyujo because of the knee dislocation. So when did he break his shoulder bone?

Curious...

Um, then I heard wrong... I heard that Haya had broken collarbone and strained neck after that fight. Sorry about the misinformation, if it is misinformation, I haven't really checked... (Blush...)

Well, no-one posted this yet, so let me: Takanowaka is back! This is good news for my poor bench.
