!IMPORTANT! Bench Sumo for November 2012

Recommended Posts

I have just sent this to the Bench Sumo Mailing List. Please join it (send an email to bench_sumo-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) to receive future updates.

Hi everyone,

The bad news is that the server that the automation is on is dead. Further bad news is that the coding (is that the correct term) for the game is outdated, so cannot be hosted on new servers. Even more bad news is that Doitsuyama does not have the time at present to update the automation etc.

This means that the status of Bench Sumo as a playable game for the upcoming basho is not looking great....

However, there is some good news, in that some players have been discussing a solution of sorts for November. This is not in place at present (so stay tuned). If we do get something ready, it will be different to previous bashos - so please pay attention to any future emails!

We will also need lots of voluteers who would be willing to help with the day-to-day gyojiing (even better would be players willing to look after a division for a 'block of time' - say, 5 day blocks.) - which will almost certainly require more work than usual.

Therefore, as the time is ticking away, please can you consider volunteering your help as soon as possible, to see if we have the 'human-power' to make this work!

All the very best,

Jejima

Hi all!

Bench Sumo for November update....

We currently do not have a 'work around' option for playing in November with the 'dead' server.... So there is still a real chance that Bench Sumo might not be operational this basho :-(

A few players have kindly volunteered their time to help (should it take off), but I think not *quite* enough, should it become a reality.....

New Bench Banzuke

It is a little later than usual, but here it is! It was made by Jejima, Flohru and Asashosakari, with Kintamayama and Ekigozan watching....

Enjoy!

With the change of the site, my old bookmark is invalid. And obviously my Bench Sumo un and pw are no good for the sumogames page.

I really don't want to look into this right now, as I have anyway just one request to anyone who feels in charge: I kindly ask for kosho status for Kyushu. Shikona's Kungliazuma.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot and also for your work in general.

Yes, I was already thinking that we have an unanimous candidate for a sweep in the pre-basho special prizes.

Shukunsho, Ginosho and Kantosho should clearly be awarded to Doitsuyama!

Thank you so much for basically saving most of the gaming action for the upcoming basho!
