Doitsuyama 1,192 Posted May 19, 2004 (edited) The two Makushita lead rikishi Kotokasuga and Maikaze lost today but at 3-3 they will have another chance to get the fourth win. Juzan won against Hakurozan and is the first Makushita riksihi at 6-0. Ms3e Kotonomine preserved his promotion cahnces with a win while Ms3w Daimanazuru lost and at 2-4 has no chances left. Kotoshogiku lost to Katayama, a maezumo college entrant from 2002, and both will have good chances with another win. -- Doitsuyama P.S.: Can someone please post a link to the SML again, as I'm still behind the firewall? Asashosakari 19,543 Posted May 19, 2004 Well, that was pretty much the most convoluted outcome possible. (Applauding...) Still nobody except Juzan has definitely secured promotion, and only one (Daimanazuru) fell out of the race. The top guys at 3-3 (Kotokasuga, Maikaze, and Kotonomine) all can't fight each other anymore, either due to same-heya considerations or because the bout already took place, so it's still possible that all three of them could finish make-koshi. If that happened, I wonder what they'd do if there need to be six promotions... promoting Ms7w Kotokanyu with 4-3 or one of the Ms9's with 5-2 would really be stretching it. Ah well, that's just a long shot anyway, I'm sure at least one of the three guys will manage to win his last bout...

Zentoryu 154 Posted May 19, 2004 What happened to Nakao-Is he Fusen or do I keep missing him? He's listed as absent at Ms2w, which means he's going to take quite the plunge down the Makushita ranks next basho.
Fujisan 533 Posted May 19, 2004 Thanks Zento- I was only interested because I have him for Juryo return in the Juryo game- Not much hope of that then, good job my other picks(Ichinotani 4-2,Kazafuzan 5-1,Sokurai 4-1 and my Juryo drop Kobo) are running closer to expectations. Coo-cook 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Hi guys, Is there any websites other than www.dohyo.com where I can watch the juryo bouts, please ? Well,...guys who post those videos on www.dohyo.com are doing great job and I'm tremendiously grateful. Obviously, they have to sacrifice lots of time and not only time for it. And, I can't blame them when they miss to post occasionally. But, I just thought how nice it would be when we have second and third choise.
Doitsuyama 1,192 Posted May 20, 2004 It only takes a guy with devotion to do that, really everyone could make it. If you do have that devotion to Juryo bouts, just BE the one offering the second choice, don't ask for it. By the way, which bouts are you missing? There aren't many missing from this basho, really. Coo-cook 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Thank you very much Doitsuyama specially for day 10 and day 11 clips. I thought you wouldn't post those clips, probably of lack of time or some other reason. No, I'm not that crazy for sumo to lose my sleep. Here in US East coast, the sumo bouts start at 2.00a.m and finishes around 5.00 a.m. That's why I'm relying on people like you. (Well...sounds like I'm a parasite) As I expressed before I'm very very thankful for what you are doing for sumo "community'.
Doitsuyama 1,192 Posted May 20, 2004 I' not that crazy either. I'm doing a scheduled recording of the stream which anyone can do and which is an idea I'd rather expect especially from US guys since THEY are who have it in the mid of the night. At least I know that if I would be living in the US I would have found MUCH earlier how do a scheduled recording of the stream...
