Day 6 results and day 7 pairings, Makuuchi and Juryo

Recommended Posts

Kotooshu is the third ozeki already going kyujo this basho, but the ozeki plague is not really affecting the yusho race as that is firmly between Hakuho, Harumafuji and Kisenosato since day 1. The likelihood of spoilers is decreasing though as the replacement maegashira in the torikumi just aren't nearly as strong as these three ozeki when they are healthy.

The yusho race didn't change much with the top dogs cruising (Kakuryu and Myogiryu also getting along at 5-1), while maegashira Okinoumi left the leader group in the first bout between two leaders this basho after day 2.

There was such a bout in juryo as well with Satoyama beating Hochiyama while here too all other leaders won, with Tokushinho beating shin-sekitori Daikiho. Ikioi and Chiyonokuni at 4-2 also look good so far.

Doitsuyama, who do you think stands a chance of causing Harumafuji an upset out of the non-Ozeki, apart from Hak, my spidy-senses tingle with danger every time i see Myogiryu take to the dohyo, he's future Ozeki material himself isn't he? :)

Kakuryu might be the dark horse this time apart from Harumafuji and Kisenosato making legit threat to the yusho. Exciting so far.

Goeido has a habit of playing spoiler when it's least expected and does have 3 wins in his last six matchups with Harumafuji.
