Yubinhaad 11,975 Posted July 16, 2018 (edited) Chiyonoumi has a third kesho-mawashi, featuring a katsuo (skipjack tuna) which his home prefecture Kochi is famous for. It was intended to be ready from the start, but Kochi has been badly affected by the recent heavy rainfall and flooding in Japan, so the kesho-mawashi was stuck in transit for a while. Chiyonoumi is wearing it as a gesture of thanks for the support he has received from home. Meanwhile the other shin-Juryo Churanoumi also has a shusshin-inspired kesho-mawashi, a lovely design featuring coral and starfish of Okinawa. Yubinhaad 11,975 Posted November 7, 2018 Tomokaze has two kesho-mawashi available for his Juryo debut, with a third already designed for the future. The first is the standard Nittai-dai alumni design. The second was given by Infinity Enterprises, Inc. and features their sports nutrition brand Musashi. Finally, his hometown Kawasaki koenkai will give him one featuring the 'kaze' kanji written by an interesting calligrapher called Sezaki, who was diagnosed with autism as a child and rarely spoke. His parents took him to all kinds of activities to try and get him active and expressing himself, such as music and sports, but calligraphy caught his eye. Exhibitions of his work have been held in recent years. I don't know when this kesho-mawashi will be ready but it should look something like this.
