FYI: Yoshinoya is owned by the same company that owns Pizza Hut/KFC.... :'-(

Yum Brands owns Yoshinoya?

NOOOOOO!!! (...this coming from a guy born and raised in Kentucky...)

Well, I'll be interested in Katsu's source.

I'm pretty sure it's not true.

Alright, alright, I couldn't find the source, but I have this:

Anyway, all I know is that I went into a Yoshinoya here in Bayjzing and

some of the accoutrements in the dining area bore the distinct mark of Yum Brand.

So, perhaps not owned...but certainly partnering...

I've been avoiding going in ever since.

Knowing Chinese businesses they probably borrowed or bootlegged the items. When I went online to find a link all I could find was stuff saying that Yum was a rival for Yoshinoya in Japan.

Clearly, that's what they want you to think...

It's true. International copyright here is trainwreck...Brad Pitt sells ladies perfume, Mickey Mouse has his own line of vehicle enhancement items and the Michelin Man sits on dashboards next to Buddha.

International copyright is the same everywhere, but in China it's not so much a trainwreck as simply ignored.

More likely, whatever company makes the items for Yum had "extras" they sold domestically. There would be no economic advantage to the marks themselves under the circumstances.
