The dohyoiri was lonely!

If we lose two a day who will be left on senshuraku?

Another sure withdrawal is Kise beya's Tanahashi. Went down on the same knee he just had surgery on, left the gym in an ambulance.

Withdrawing as of Day 11:

Dewadaiki fusenpai Hamadayama gets fusensho.

Dewadaiki's right knee went bang in his Day 8 bout against Daitoken. Looked very bad, probably ACL - he had to roll off the dohyo. :-( Do the lower division guys get a wheelchair when they get this badly hurt??

Kotoviki, do you have any idea what's up with Takaisamu? As Fukurou noted at the start of the thread this is his third consecutive absence so it must be something serious, but I hope it isn't career-ending.

Tanahashi also had to be rolled off the dohyo and they made him hop half way down the Hanamichi! I have never seen such crap in professional sports! The wheelchair should have been at the dohyo in seconds but they want to get them out of the Hanamichi so the next match can go on! Crappy system!

I will see if I can find out what is up with Takaisamu!

Any news about Towanoyama?

No apparent further injury on Day 10. Had a knee wrapped and offered minimal resistance in his loss to Bushy.

Thanks for the reply.

BTW it was Kaonishiki on day 10. Bushy got the fusensho today. (Perhaps the only way Bushy could have won....)

KASUGASATO (Jk15e) enters the basho on Day 13, having been absent since the start. He fights winless water drinker Miyazawa in the opening bout of the day.

Maybe he's just not a morning person - he didn't show up for the opening bout of Day 8 either.

Speaking of which, that fusen is shown as a regular loss on Miyazawa's database page.

Ditto for Dewadaiki on Day 10. Guess the Kyokai added the fusen kimarite later than usual to the pages?

Sekiwake GOEIDO is kyujo on Day 14 due to a rib injury, I think ("fracture of the left costal cartilage" is the best I can do at this late hour). Kakuryu will get the fusensho and kachi-koshi.

Goeido was so close to kachikoshi too! What a shame!

Also even tho it was the last match, worrying about Sakaguchiyama! He went down the same a Tanahashi the other day. Luckily less weight but the did just send him off by ambulance!

It's either that or left armpit or a stomach pain.. 左脇腹痛

Anyhow he injured it on day 7 against Kisenosato and it was further aggravated yesterday against Tochinoshin. "After the bout he had trouble breathing. This is inexcusable to the fans, but I'd like him to concentrate on the healing process," explained Sakaigawa Oyakata.

Tanahashi will be out for quite some time I guess! He is in a hospital in Osaka because of the oyakata's connections but how lonely he is.... He said he will be in the hospital a long time! His heya mets can't go see him, his parents and friends are all in Gifu, so he has nobody! A side trip to Osaka on my way back home is not at all within my budget but I am thinking of it.....

Day 14 Fusen

Hey, it looks like I've missed all the fun! Back just in time to announce,,,,, a no-show on day 14 :-P

West Sandanme 7 INOUE didn't appear, giving him his makekochi (3-4). OTOH, West Sandanme 8 TORUGAWA did appear, giving him his kachikochi (4-3).

Probably so. I waited until all bouts are over to update all records, so it should be ok now.

It was an all-round bad day for Tanahashi .
