Andreas21 172 Posted May 21, 2012 There will be plenty of space in Makuuchi as there are many clear demotions : Fujiazuma Chiyonokuni Asasekiryu Kimikaze Tenkaiho. Up for promotion are Tamaasuka Masunoyama Ikioi Hochiyama Takanoyama. Kyokushuho at J5e with 9-6 won't make it. Looks pretty straightforward to me (not as if that'd mean anything). yorikiried by fate 1,868 Posted May 21, 2012 Asasekiryu vs. Ikioi is far from straightforward IMHO.
Koorifuu 700 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) Fujiazuma and Chiyonokuni will not only be demoted, but also find themselves on the bottom half of Juryo most likely. As yorikiried by fate somewhat said.. I doubt Ikioi's 8-7 at J2 or Hochiyama's J3 9-6 will be enough to swap division with Asasekiryu's 6-9 at M14 or Tenkaiho's and Kimikaze's 5-10 at M13... Even if all those 3 lowly maegashiras with bad MKs deserve "juryodom", there isn't enough quality scores on top Juryos to make up for it. It'll be very close. Except Masunoyama, Takanoyama and Tamaasuka. Edited May 21, 2012 by Koorifuu
