Day 4 results and day 5 pairings, Makuuchi and Juryo

Aminishiki managed the second big upset this basho, beating ozeki Baruto. Now there are only three undefeated rikishi in the joi-jin with Kotoshogiku, Kisenosato and Tochiozan - definitely unfamiliar to see no foreign rikishi in the makuuchi yusho lead, but hey, two foreigners are still rounding up the leader group with Aoiyama and Kaisei.

Chiyotairyu had another good win, this time over Fujiazuma who seems to have overstayed his welcome to the makuuchi division, and I'm beginning to believe that the Kokonoe-beya rikishi will become the first sekiwake who came from college since eons... well, the last one was Tamanoshima in Hatsu 2004 and he was just a one time 5-10 sekiwake. And the last one before him was Tochinonada in Haru 2001 (two basho as sekiwake) and before him Kotomitsuki, in Hatsu 2001 and the last really good college rikishi (along with still active Miyabiyama of course who had his sekiwake debut in 2000). In contrast to this there were no less than 21 makuuchi debuts since 2004 from college rikishi (out of 75 debuts overall).

Juryo has only one leader left as Tamaasuka defeated Asasekiryu in makuuchi to advance to 4-0 with ten rikishi at 3-1, among them lead juryo Masunoyama. The other lead juryo Asahisho is down to 0-4, as are Satoyama and shin-sekitori Masakaze.
